"There are a lot of individuals over age 55. Very. nice neighborhood neighbors and amenities safe and secure "
  • Aisha A. A.
"I’ve lived here for two years with my family and feel completely safe and comfortable in the neighborhood."
  • Stephan G.
"A lot of dogs owners, we have several doggies stations so people mostly pick up after their pets. We have a lot of trails to take our dogs on walks"
  • Whittney P.
"Not much public transportation but if you’re looking to metro into the city it’s not super far. Traffic on the highway can be a nightmare during the weekday but inside the city it’s not bad"
  • Aisha A. A.
"The commute is treacherous. Heading to DC is a horrible experience. Route 66 is plagued with traffic and tolls. Additionally, DMV drivers do not obey the laws. Coming from PA/NJ, these are by far the worse drivers. Individuals will jump 4 lanes to exit at the last minute. I’ve seen people driving onto and exit ramp for a highway...worse part about it all is that these very same people aren’t even remotely concerned. They have zero regard for other people’s safety or the law as a whole. "
  • Cjeanbaptiste929
"There is not really community here, even though the neighborhood is safe, clean, and nice with good schools. I miss community like I had in Manassas Park."
  • K_lo
"For every major holiday decorations go up in shopping centers and on sidewalks. Most neighborhoods do the same "
  • Elizabeth P.
"For a “working class” neighborhood it feels very high end. It’s very family friendly and extremely safe. It’s convenient to major roadways and shopping. Excellent schools and community "
  • Tammy H.
"Mine isn't bad due to being able to take all back roads to Chantilly area. If I had to travel on main routes during rush hour I would lose my mind!"
  • Cjeanbaptiste929
"The feeling of community and being safe. The only thing is that neighbors don’t speak and we aren’t as close as I’d like but schools are great and nice amenities. "
  • Aman A.
"Nice neighborhood with all the necessary amenities within 10 minutes drive. Friendly neighbors without many criminal records "
  • Edithia74539
"Virginia Oaks neighborhood in particular is very safe, nice, calm, clean, and quiet. A life style of tranquility is what you’ll experience while living here. "
  • Lori R.
"Gainesville VA is a rapidly growing community full of young families. The elementary schools are still good, but we chose private school for both middle and high school due to crowding. As Gainesville grows, there are many more amenities and things to do. Road traffic is only heavy for a brief time during rush hours. All in all, it’s been a wonderful place to raise our family."
  • Ty A.
"It’s a friendly area with lots of community resources including a pool , exercise room, and lots of outdoor space for families. "
  • Roger M.
"Really quiet neighborhood convenient to shopping, dining, and the freeway. Single family community on one side and condo/townhomes on the other. Decent community center and a new Lieftime gym less than a half mile away. Great weekend relaxer with minimum traffic. "
  • Chelegonzalez
"this is a lovely neighborhood I work in Silver Spring MD but its ok, schools are good and if you're parent you'll love this place"
  • Chelegonzalez
"this neighborhood is great, good schools and enviroment people are great and the shopping center close has great options to have fun"
  • Sherriemorgan63
"Many dog owners in neighborhood Kid friendly. Family walking and biking paths Restaurants close by too"
  • Shaunmeade
"Gainesville is a great community it borders Manassas and Haymarket. It’s a growing town so new businesses are popping up frequently. Traffic is only major issue once you leave Gainesville which would be I66. Busy busy Interstate "
  • Abigail T.
"Ive lived here for over 10 years and can only name like 5 ‘events’ that have happened here lol. The more that the city has developed the more crime there’s been but the only repetitive nuisance has been car break ins when leaving your car unlocked (so lock your car). "
  • tiffany.flavin
"People in this neighborhood are super friendly. We have neighborhood events and BBQ's, look out for each other's children, kids are always outside riding bikes. This area is very safe and my whole family loves living here."
  • Dmcnult99
"Great place to raise a family! Very close to schools, restaurants, shopping. I have lived here for 5 years and every year the area continues to grow."
  • Shaunmeade
"HORRIBLE! Traffic is worst part about this area. I66 traffic is chaotic, need solutions for on and off ramps. These locations halt all traffic "
  • Barbara T.
"Folks are friendly, it’s safe, and very quiet. Lots of kids playing. This was the best area I have ever lived. Schools are great too. "
  • Christina H.
"People are out walking their dogs often. There are also sidewalks connecting the housing development with old town Haymarket. "
  • chucks4travel
"Their are two easily accessible routes to 66. Close access to routes 28 and 50. Back roads can often be taken to avoid any traffic. If you work the usual business hours, you’re bound to get stuck in traffic regularly. However, the fact you can actually spread out and relax here without city noise and with a sense of community is well worth the commute. "
  • Jasmine D.
"I’ve lived in Gainesville my whole life and i absolutely love it. I’m getting ready to move away however and looking at places around have made me realize how safe I am in Gainesville. It’s a family-friendly place that i’m going to miss dearly when I move."
  • Jeffwitters
"It’s a boring sea of beige with passive aggressive people. It has about as much culture as the color beige all the houses are painted with. "
  • Christinanance14
"Great family neighborhood. Always nice people outside and neighborhood is helpful during winter with shoveling. Sought after location with easy highway access only 1 mile away to 66, 15, and 29."
  • chucks4travel
"Everyone is friendly. We house sit and dog sit for one another, have neighborhood cookouts and yard sales. The houses and yards are well maintained. You know how every neighborhood has a creepy and rundown house where the grass is never mowed? Well, we don’t have one of those. "
