"It’s a historical city with many unique historical homes and sights. People are kind and although it may not be maintained or cleaned at its best, it’s a great place to live."
  • Justin Llorente
"Prostitution in the neighborhood. Loud firecrackers during Independence Day and loud cars. Neighborhood is quiet for the most part."
  • Kgc8dxdsvd
"I lived in this neighborhood for 2 years so far it’s been great . Everything is pretty close by and the schools are close with different options for grade levels. "
  • Trulia User
"There are no community events, at least any that I know of. I've been living here for over 10 years and the only community event this neighborhood has shared with each other is the occasional taco truck sale."
  • Trulia User
"You see dogs here very often. They are friendly as well. People pick up after their dogs too. They have enough parks for them too"
  • Trulia User
"From what I remember they didn’t have much community events going on. Maybe just football but nothing else"
  • Mari M.
"We are close to the park in the Marina Bay We’re also close to the trolley station and shopping centers and there’s a park nearby it’s a nice area all the dog owners have to clean up after their dogs anyways"
  • Adriana C.
"Bonita/National city area has been pretty quiet for me. Neighbors are awesome and friendly and welcoming. Haven’t heard any crime or sirens going off around here. It’s been a good neighborhood so far. "
  • Busy
"It’s ok.... not the best but not the worst either.... A lot of homeless ppl around though and it’s on a busy street. "
  • Vanessa S.
"It is great to live when you have family. It really feels like home. everything is close. The park is like 2 blocks away."
  • Kenny R.
"I’ve lived here my whole life and can’t wait to get out! Lots of homeless and drugs everywhere. No parking in local apartments because it’s multiple families living in one house so they park everywhere. "
  • cfan
"I’ve lived here since 1982. My family has 3 generations graduate from Sweetwater High. It has come a long way in urban development. My street I grew up on used to be a dirt road where cowboys rode horses down and ice cream men rang their bell to let you know he’s near. Now it’s grown beautifully, less gangs and less graffiti, Great Police Department, they are good guys that care. "
  • Maria D. C. H.

  • Patchapman48
"and good youth sports. Many varieties of activities and a Boys and Girls Club next to Kimball Park. Caution should be taken, and coaches checked out. Great place to do some volunteer work such snack bar, team mother, scorekeeper."
