If you are in the trades, need space for your toys... or both... check out 677 Main Street in lovely Somers, Connecticut!
First, let's discuss the house! The master bedroom is located upstairs, along with a 3rd bedroom that has potential to be converted to a bathroom. Two more bedrooms are found downstairs that include hardwood flooring and recessed lighting. The kitchen is spacious that includes a refrigerator, as well as a newer oven and dishwasher. Off the kitchen is the recently renovated bathroom.
The pantry, that doubles as a laundry room, is also directly off of the kitchen. Also off the kitchen, is the sunroom. From here, you'll take in the fall foliage, snowfalls, and summer storms.
Although it was built in 1900, the utilities have been updated - 200 amp electric, Rinnai tankless water heater, are just a couple examples. Water is supplied by the town, while the septic system is in the rear of the house.
While the forced hot air (oil) works wonderfully, enjoy the radiant warmth provided by a new Harman pellet stove will heat the entire house.
The roof was stripped and replaced in 2021 and comes with a 30-year warranty. During the roof update, the two skylights were also replaced.
There is a sunny front porch that was entirely removed and replaced with beautiful pine tongue and groove surface in 2021. Just supply the rocking chairs... and you'll be all set!
As for the backyard - it is large, flat, and sunny! If you have pets or young children, you'll love the partially fenced yard. If you are a gardener, the topsoil is excellent in the rear of the yard. Your tomato plants will grow tall and strong.
Now let's look at the other buildings! First, there is a 3-bay garage. One of the bays has been framed separately, insulted, and an all-glass Anderson French door let's the sunlight in. It can be turned into an office, studio, or fitness space. The garage has a dedicated 100-amps of electricity and a 240-volt outlet - plenty of power for a compressor or other equipment. When the electricity was trenched, a second conduit was also laid, as well as a plumbing line - offering the opportunity for running water.
The 2nd outbuilding is a concrete shed! It provides 75 square feet of space for kids bikes, a root cellar, or whatever your imagination comes up with! On top of the shed, is a fun patio that overlooks the backyard.
Between the shed and the barn, there is an excellent sledding hill!
As for the barn, it's gotten rough around the edges. But it offers over 1,000 square feet of dry storage.
