About this House

Picture the drive home. The through-streets fall away, the road quiets and begins to climb, and the cul-de-sac opens at the top of the rise with this Sattler custom walkout ranch sitting at the crown of it, set higher than everything around it. The landscaping is established and intentional, the driveway sweeps up and wide toward an oversized heated three-stall garage, and before you ever reach the door you feel it: quiet, sky, and the sense of arriving somewhere above the ordinary.
Now open the front door. This is the moment the home was built for. The space lifts away in a custom combination of soaring vaulted and deep tray ceilings, hardwood floors stretch out underfoot, and across the entire back of the home a wall of windows hands you the view over Seminole Valley and the wooded Cedar River corridor. Light pours in from every direction. The custom millwork that made Sattler a name in this market shows itself in the trim, the built-ins, and the way each line resolves exactly where it should. You feel it before you can name it: this home was designed, not simply constructed.
Step into the great room and let it hold you, anchored by a central fireplace and custom built-ins, opening to a gourmet kitchen with light wood cabinetry, premium quartz countertops, a large central island, and direct access to the main deck for outdoor dining and relaxation. Imagine the island on a Sunday morning, coffee on the breakfast bar, the formal dining room a few steps away, and the built-in butler niches in the connecting hall telling you the people who shaped this home thought about the moments most builders never bother with.
Off the main living space, a four-season sun room offers the view in every season. A huge main-level office gives you a real executive study or a flexible space to fit your lifestyle, complemented by a secondary library and reading room set behind elegant glass French doors. And the primary suite sits on the main level, with a massive walk-in closet and a private bath with a jetted tub set beneath the windows. Single-level living, fully realized, with the valley always within reach.
Now go downstairs and watch the home open a second time. The fully finished walkout lives like a residence of its own, engineered specifically to host: a massive family room and media lounge built for game days, a full-service custom wet bar, a dedicated home gym, additional bathrooms, and flexible rooms ready to serve as guest quarters or grow with your needs. Because it is a true walkout, it steps straight into daylight and toward the ravine, the lower windows carrying the same green view as the floor above, never feeling like a basement.
Step onto the rear deck and take it all in. The valley, the trees, and the quiet that comes with sitting above the neighborhood. The home is built to carry you through anything, with a whole-home generator that keeps life uninterrupted when the weather turns, a three-zone sound system, lawn irrigation, and central vacuum. Roughly 4,180 finished square feet in all, 2,340 on the main level and 1,840 in the walkout below.
You are positioned perfectly, minutes from Seminole Valley, Twin Pines Golf Course, Xavier School, and local shopping and dining, with quick and easy access to Highway 100 and Interstate 380. Close to everything you need, and above all of it.
Some homes you tour. This one you arrive at. Schedule your private tour and come see what living above Seminole Valley feels like.

"I do not have any personnel knowledge of public transportation as I don’t utilize it but I do know there is a bus stop about a block from our residence. With the change in seasons and time change this weekend, people will be coming out as weather permits. There will a reunion of sorts since we’ve finally ventured out. In the Spring there will be garage sales, summer will have festivities all over the neighborhood & surrounding towns. Fall will welcome kids back to school & winter will have Christmas decorations & lights in the neighborhood "
  • Marcy Boyd
"Neighbors are all friendly. Summertime there are planned get together and spontaneous gatherings. Kids ride their bikes and the little ones ride trikes or big wheels. There is a mix or generations with young families up to retired people. "
  • Marcy Boyd
"Nice people, dog friendly and a bit older so kids not around much. Yards are kept up, snow removal becomes a commmunity affair unless snow large amount at one time. Then the paid snow removers are brought in. "
  • Tara Wilford
"Friendly, safe and easily accessible. It’s a bigger city with a small town feel in Iowa. Lots of great restaurants!"
  • JoAnna S Branquinho
"I’ve lived here 6 years and love it. The community involvement and report is literally everything we could want and more."
  • Treeamina Keyes

  • Aboum B
"I live there for 1 year and most of neighbors are friendly, the area is so quiet . I believe to be the same in the future. My friends also are planing to move in this area , they love it. "
  • Debra Rosemary Gagnon
"I love the old, beautiful homes... There's plenty of awesome people living in them, too. My kind of people. ❤️"
  • Trulia User
"Even though it's a family oriented neighborhood, ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE, WHO THEY'RE WITH, THE ROUTE THEY ARE TO TAKE TO GET BACK HOME, AND DO SURPRISE CHECKS ONCE IN AWHILE! That's what kept me on my toes!!!! "
  • Trulia User
"I've grew up in the country I also have lived in town I lo I live downtown I get along with everyone"
  • Trulia User
"Neighborhood block parties are fun. It's a chance to meet new people and their families. The kids can maybe find new playmates."

"Not a good family environment. Great sense of community spirit. The most beautiful houses and beautiful people in the city live here. "
  • Trulia User
"it's not a safe neighborhood. there are gunshots on a weekly basis. I do not recommend anyone move to this area, especially if they have children. we have seen police presence, high speed chases, drug deals in the street, people walking their dogs off leash. it's not safe."
  • Julikrathje
"People's yards are large and well maintained as well as pride of ownership shows! Close to shops and restaurants but this neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors couldn't be friendlier."
  • Trulia User
"A dog park would be nice and trash cans and bags available through out the area so that dog owners can clean up "
  • Trulia User
"Very quiet and well maintained. Mostly older couples. Not a ton of younger kids but very kid friendly."
  • Trulia User
"Neighbors are friendly and kind. Neighborhood is great for taking walks and bike rides, and only a short 10 minute walk to Newbo. Pleasant neighborhood that I’ve enjoyed living in, however street lights are not always plentiful or working, so walks may be better taken during daylight. Really feel like this area is quaint and quiet, but just needs a little love from the city to give it a facelift. "
  • Trulia User
"I drive my own personal vehicle. It's not convenient or conducive to major travel in the town. During mid-day, the bus runs every hour. Also it's designed too serve certain neighborhoods"
  • Trulia User
"Mt mercy university has alot of events and shopping is close, hyvee, fairway, and lots of places to eat."
  • Trulia User
