In February 2020, my family and I moved to the Mariposa neighborhood. At the time, I attended a charter school, but about a year and a half later, when I was in third grade, my parents decided to move me to Mariposa for a variety of reasons. Now, I can confidently say that it was one of the best decisions they have ever made for me.When I started at Mariposa, we did not fully know what to expect. On my first day of school, I was welcomed by amazing teachers, staff members, and administrators. The students were wonderful, and I quickly made friends. Now, as an eighth grader, I still have many of those same friendships.One unique part of my story is that I have hearing loss, which was naturally a concern when I entered a new school. As it turned out, I received a tremendous amount of support. I was even honored as a Kyrene Super Student, one of the highest recognitions in our district. I could not have earned this award without the amazing people at Mariposa.Since graduating from Mariposa, I have built even stronger relationships with the people there, and our community is stronger than ever. If you want to make one of the best decisions possible for your child, I highly recommend sending them to Mariposa. It truly is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to me.
