I had been at this school for two years and watched as my student continued to get straight "A"s but couldn't do any of the basic grammar or math. I was forced to withdraw my student out of the school because of the gross failings and constant lying of the new principal. It was a fortunate event as that's when I discovered that my 5th grader doesn't understand a sentence or parts of speech. My student was so overly anxious due to the intense pressure placed on them by some of the staff and now that they are out of that toxic environment, my student has vastly improved and her doctor noticed the huge difference has noted it on their chart. Teachers and staff at the school have been heard to yell at the students instead of talking with them. Now I see they have put their sign up for kindergarten roundup. Truly, a responsible parent will take their voucher and find a better elementary school. Vail even gave a teacher who has a solid reputation as someone who screams at parents and students, teacher of the year. This is definitely NOT a school for conditioned children. I fought for a 504 that they ignored. They forcibly try and treat conditioned kids "normally". These kids have to fight daily to get their needs met unless a paramore is hired. This school even forces kids to do homework that the school provides incorrect answers to. How is this school an "A" school or is this why Arizona ranks last in education?

We love Vail Academy and High School! We have had both our children here since kindergarten and they are now in 7th and 5th grades. It is very easy to communicate with teachers, staff, and administration. Having currently around 450 students total for grades k-12, it is easy to get to know each other, spend one on one time with teachers, and enjoy smaller class sizes. Vail Academy has a strong community feel with teachers that continually go above and beyond to ensure their student’s success in and out of the classroom.

Unless your child fits their idea of a “perfect” student, this school will make it clear that they don’t care about you or your child. The front office staff is by far the worst part — unprofessional, rude, and openly judgmental. They’ve made inappropriate comments to students and even gossiped about children in front of parents. It’s disheartening and unacceptable. I’m counting down the days until we’re finally done with this school.

It is perfect for my kids who go there

My daughter had a great freshman year. She is in all AP or honors classes. They also have Engineering and Drama as electives, and she is interested in both. Her math skills really took off last year under her Algebra teacher. She is interested in her electives, or she'd have joined the Corvis Academy, which is a serious college prep cohort. It's great for her to be at a school where the focus is not on mindless athletics!

VDLP is a high rigor online program for students wanting an alternative option for school. It is ideal for students wanting academic challenges and the opportunity to accelerate through classes. VDLP offers full-time options along with students who want to take additional classes to their normal schedule. It is challenging and rigorous yet web based to afford families freedom to travel or have alternative class schedules.

This school is so impressive!! I have a sophomore that is in both the auto pathway but is also taking the engineering class. His counselor listened to what his goals after high school are and suggested this route and I am so grateful! We went to an event at the high school called the Halloween Festival that is student run. All I can say is that I wish all the big events I go to were run by Andrada students! What a great turn out and event! The students were so polite and hard working!!
