Will do nothing to help with your problems (bullying) and the school does mental damage I've seen at least 3 kids break down in the first 4 weeks of school, one week after a break of some kind I got hit with almost 6 assignments for 1 class and around as many for my others and was expected to finish in about a week, still being punished for not being able to finish them. But other than that it's an okay school and the staff is nice, learning gets done but with very poor thought into how students can do so much work without breaking down every 3 classes

This school is really good at test taking...and that's about all. Favoritism is rampant. Most teachers appear to be teachers only so they can be coaches. And the administration has no issue with certain coaches using profane and vulgar language in the classroom or locker room (I'm talking "f" bombs on a regular basis). More money is spent on athletics than academics as evidenced by the brand new volleyball "pit", the dedicated basketball "pavilion" and the college-level football field with brand new press box. (This is a small district...some kids get scholarships to small schools after their career here, but I doubt anyone is going pro.) The communication is next to none. If there is something to be shared, it's not done in the weekly "message" and you'll be lucky to find out about it more than a couple of days in advance. I picked this district based on its US News ranking and it's Great Schools rating. I have learned that you can't really judge a school by the rating. There are so many intangibles that affect the school environment. We moved from Washoe County Nevada...one of the lowest ranking schools in the country. But, I feel like my kids were better educated and cared about in that district than they are here.

I am SO impressed with the schools in the district! We moved here from MT and just completed our second year of school at Westside! My daughter is thrilled to go to school everyday! The teachers are great, the focus is on the children and the parents are all willing to get involved! I personolly feel that parent involvement is one of the number one qualities of a successful school! Way to go Greenbrier!
