NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEdwardsburg Primary School I cannot adequately express how disappointed I am in our first experience at this school. After years of living in the community and hearing about how wonderful the schools are, I was underwhelmed to say the least. My child began kindergarten this year. In our brief time at the school we have encountered more than one grouchy, rude staff member. These are 5,6, and 7 year olds, and I cannot believe how they are treated in their first experience at school. At the end of the first day, several children (including my child) were put on the bus even though they are exclusively car riders. We were fortunate to catch their error before the bus left. My neighbor was not that fortunate. His daughter was erroneously put on the bus and rode home to an empty house. Luckily he was able to race home and caught the bus before it left our neighborhood. I am beyond disappointed with this school. It should be a warm, welcoming and well-organized environment, and it is far from it. I did give it two stars because my child's teacher seems competent and kind. I feel sorry for the new principal because she has her work cut out for her this year.Parent Review11y ago1 Reviews - Edwardsburg Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo today I took my granddaughter to school after a dentist appointment. We arrived at 8:45 in the morning and waited to sign in the office. In front of me was a young girl signing in. Her father had just signed her in and left. As the girl finished signing in she wrote down the reason she was arriving late was because she overslept. Her father had written that she was at an appointment and the girl crossed the word appointment out and wrote overslept. Now this is a middle school student who knew to tell the truth rather than lie like her father. But the equally important part of this story is That the secretary that was taking the students information And giving her her pass to goto class, Took time to acknowledge the student for doing the right thing. She merely said " I appreciate your honesty". It moved me because so many people do not acknowledge students when they do the right thing but only find criticism when they make poor choices. I think the secretary was a fabulous person to support the students and encourage her to continue to make the right choices in life. It's employees like this that make Edwardsburg schools so desirable!!Other Review12y ago5 Reviews - Edwardsburg High School

"The one thing I don't like are the city houses live across from three of them, and two out of the three always look like a total wreck"

"There is only the Dial a Ride! No Uber, I think Lyft may come from another town for a fee. My commute is fine as I have a car. However if I were to have transportation problems, I would be in trouble. There is nothing from Niles to other towns. If there were, the prices would be more than a person could pay. "

"Loud neighbors. There are neighbors in this neighborhood that have race cars that drive fast and you can hear from many block always. There is also one with a dirt bike track in their back and side yard that comes up on the side walk. I would be worried walking or riding bikes on the sidewalk in fear of being creamed by a dirt bike."

"This is the best area to live in Niles. This region is a little peninsula below the St. Joseph river, and since there is no through traffic, there is a lot of privacy. It is close to the bypass in terms of access, but far enough so that you don't hear road noise. It's one of the few areas where the speed limits are low, and most people don't speed. That makes the area very walkable, which was essential to us in terms of having a safe, comfortable place to walk with little kids. Most areas around SW Michigan don't have that. The Morris Farm is beautiful to have right nearby, as is their cute little wedding chapel. There are all sorts of homes here, from contemporary subdivisions to larger lots with older homes. Commuting-wise we do work in both St. Joseph and South Bend/Mishawaka, the latter being closer and very convenient to access. So we have privacy, beautiful countryside, the enjoyment of good neighbors, but convenience to local shopping, groceries, etc. This is the place I recommend for people who work in South Bend but don't want to live right in the heart of it all."
