"Fire up downtown is a good one. There are events at the theater and several churches in the areas. There isn’t much else"
  • M M Price
"No specific events, but consistent adherence to high standards keep this neighborhood attractive and desirable."
  • M M Price
"The grounds and streets are beautifully maintained with a park-like atmosphere. People are friendly while still allowing you your privacy. Cats are allowed but no dogs except for documented service animals. "
  • Teresa K Green
"Presently, we live across from a rental and these people run in & out all day, everyday so it keeps our dogs barking a lot. It’s annoying. They should be moving soon!"
  • Teresa K Green
"Everything on S. Tillotson is quick to get to. BSU & IU/BMH is just a few blocks away. Close to skating rink & golf course. "
  • Josephtalley1
"Yes they walk they dog and the dogs be quiet at night . They all shoot to the fence, bark, and snap at each other, but they've never been properly introduced. If our dog hears them barking outside, he will pace and whine by the windows"
  • Sierra Dobbs
"We have music events downtown and we also have block parties!! The kids can ride their bikes. I like where I live because not much drama happens"
  • Kimberly Shockley Dodd
"Crap in the yards are not fun. No aggressive breeds are allowed, which is a good thing. The dogs protect us. "
  • Derek J Izzi
"We have lived here for 3 years. It is very quiet. Homes and yards are well maintained. People are friendly. City is pushing revitalization. It is going well. "
  • Derek J Izzi
"The schools are good. There is a great walking trail. Very close to Ball state. Neighborhood is very friendly "
  • BCIII
"Very dog friendly. Most pick up after their dogs. Grounds are mostly kept up, excess of walnuts on the ground can be a trip hazard. "
  • Derek J Izzi
"5 minutes commute to downtown. There is no mass transit in our neighborhood. Traffic is minimal during commute "
  • Trulia User
"just watch there kids outside and know what they are doing and who they are with. there a to many strangers walking around."
  • Trulia User
"I think everyone is friendly and well respectful the wouldn't like to be disrespected nor their homes to be either."
  • Trulia User
"Don’t know if any, very new to area. Everyone seems pretty quiet, but we are close to the hospital, so we hear a lot of sirens. "
  • Trulia User
"We are new to this neighborhood. Actually, I am new to town after living in rural Jay Co for 15+ yrs. But my husband & his family are from here. "
  • Trulia User
"No sidewalks to walk to the dog in the neighborhood, so you have to go to the local parks or the university "
  • Trulia User
"We don’t have any. I wouldn’t consider this a “neighborhood”. No one is really friendly. Not on my street anyway. "
  • Trulia User
"it depends on what part of Southside your at. some parts are not kepted up, and looks kinda of scary. and there are parts that are nice. "
  • Rednecksdoitbetter76
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 12 years it is a great area, yes there are some thief's , you'll get that anywhere, for the most part it is quiet and quaint. I'm looking to buy a home and if I can't find one in the country I'll try my best to stick to this neighborhood. It's in walking distance to Walmart, and Southside Middle school along with the other shops around Walmart, The Greenway trail is right behind the houses on Meeker Ave. Pet Friendly, Kids are starting to come back into the neighborhood , for a while it was mainly adults. I just love living in this area. "
  • Vince W.
"Nothing. This place sucks. The neighborhood is terrible. Crime rate is growing. Drugs are bad in the area. "
  • Paula A
"I have lived in this neighborhood for 42 years and most of my neighbors have also lived here for over 42 years. Neighbors are friendly and can borrow a cup of sugar or an egg. Great place to raise a family. You can leave your car doors unlocked. "
  • Michael A. P.
"the park needs work and dont let your kids go out alone. not the best place to live. houses are not well maintained."
  • Ashley F.
"I drive my own car around. Drives can be a little tense during rush hours or break hours for work. Avoid Bethel and McGalliard during peak hours"
  • Pamcmillion.amos
"The neighborhood that existed 30plus years ago was great. Every house had kids and great place to raise them. Since then renters have moved in and there went the neighborhood. Lawns are not well kept and no more kids outside playing. If my children were little they would have to stay close to home so I would know where they were. "
  • Pamcmillion.amos
"Always see dog owners walking their dog. It’s a great place. With empty houses and more people renting homes the neighborhood is definitely going down hill. "
  • Jordan
"It’s a college town, but as long as you’re not too prudey (which I don’t mean in a bad way) it is a great place to live. You probably will have the occasional outside noises but it’s safe and the college kids are overall very friendly and considerate of home owners in the area. "
  • Jrob2k19
"Too many druggies in this area I’ve had people walk into my home multiple times. I’ve found needles on the streets and people are always outside late doing weird stuff"
  • Jabreelhall
"To many lose dogs not enough supervision of dogs already in the neighborhood i like having my dog though"
  • L
"this neighborhood is home for ball state students. down riverside there are a lot of homes available for rent and own. "
  • Theresa A.
"This area has a great commute The buses run regular with no problem or you can ask for Lyft, Uber, or walking which is safe neighborhood. They speak to each other here with no problems there is a great daycare down the street at a level 3 which is excellent level So if you want a quiet neighborhood to live come here"
  • Shana J.
"Monthly neighborhood meetings, close to restaurants and shopping, decent school system, well maintained neighborhoods "
  • Lynn1384
"It’s a college town but is still a great town. I’ve never had problems with it being too loud unless you live by Greek row. People are very nice and I always feel safe. The shootings lately have all been from the same house on riverside and they are moving out, that house is up for rent now. "
  • Madison C.
"This is a college town and it’s very obvious when you get here. Very loud area, with constant partying, constant crime, and many shootings a year. I honestly can’t wait to leave this area. "
  • K. G.
"Safe place to live and work. Excellent schools. I have lived her my entire life. I would recommend this city to any new family"
  • Justin G.
"This area floods beware, sit on the back street by the river, I've seen the whole neighborhood flooded"
  • Communitymemeber
"This is a great, quiet and clean neighborhood. I have never encountered any type of problem here and everyone is very friendly. "
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived here for like 2 years it’s really nice. Occasional weird activity but nothing bad or off the wall. Lots of college kids for sure. "
  • Seth N.
"Close to downtown and other business areas. Not much to complain about other than the trains (but that’s essentially the whole city)."
  • Juan Doe
