The teachers, principal, support staff all professional, care about wellbeing of the children and their success. There are before and after school activities such as band/orchestra, music makers, drama club, cooking, craft ets. All of these extra curriculum activities enrich children’s experience. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMLT is a fantastic school with wonderful, competitive prek and kindergarten programs. The Orange school district has blue ribbon schools and MLT is the perfect example of a great school in action. Children's desires to learn and curious natures are fostered and encouraged. Technology is used in the classrooms in partnership with traditional methods of teaching. The teachers go above and beyond and the principal is involved and keeps parents informed. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to the school district for the renowned Amity high school. It’s an okay school. Not terrible, however, not great either. When we had any issues, they were immediately brushed off by the counselor, school services and the superintendent. Some teachers are decent while others don’t know their area of expertise and make really weird mistakes in class. The new teachers just overload the students with class projects and homework and brag about being bored as a teacher in class. It’s actually a tendency for Amity teachers to give college level amount of work and just grade it afterwards, barely any teacher - student engagement. Feels like taking a fully online college class.The school has a serious drug and vaping problem no one seems to care about.Bullying does exist at Amity too. Less than at lower rating public schools, since many kids come from decent families.Yet, when we reported the long-term bullying and harassment issue by another student, the school just did the victim-blaming!Amity should focus on its internal issues instead of the school ratings.It feels more like a 5-6/10 school to me.
