Rare Private Garden Cottage- Bright Spacious Studio with Skylights, Laundry, Parking & Two Private Outdoor Spaces

Live somewhere that doesn't feel like a typical apartment. This private garden cottage is tucked quietly away from the street, offering a rare combination of privacy, sunlight, and outdoor space just minutes from the center of town.

Inside, the home feels open and airy thanks to very high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors, and multiple skylights that fill the space with natural light throughout the day. The large studio layout easily accommodates both living and sleeping areas, creating a comfortable, flexible home environment.

The sleeping area includes an east- facing window, so the room fills with gentle morning sunlight- an especially pleasant way to start the day.

The cottage also includes a modern kitchen, one full bathroom, and the convenience of in-until laundry.

One of the most special features is the two private outdoor areas reserved exclusively for you. These spaces are perfect for morning coffee, reading, working outside, or relaxing after a long day. The surrounding garden includes mature orange and plum trees, creating a peaceful, almost hidden-retreat feeling.

Despite the quiet setting, the location is highly convenient. You can walk to Central Park and Memorial Hall in about 10 minutes, placing you close to campus, downtown cafes, restaurants, and community events while still enjoying the calm of a private cottage.

This home is especially appealing for college: undergraduate/graduate students, visiting scholars, faculty, and professionals who want a place that feels comfortable, bright, and private rather than crowded or institutional.

  • Trulia User

"it's a great place to raise a family and an awesome community you can't really find a bad area of davis anyehere "
  • Trulia User
"People in the area walk their dogs on the sidewalks and seem welcome. Due to the large number of apartments in the area dog ownership skews heavily towards the smaller side it seems."
  • Trulia User
"Good city just too expensive. You get what you paid for. If you hate driving and like riding bikes it’s perfect. If you like to drive you’re going to hate all the bike lanes."
  • Isaac L.
"Davis has many dog parks, Neighborhoods are safe and not noisy. I moved here because of its family oriented nature, activities, nice schools district "
  • Holly_chamberlain
"I grew up in what is now called Central Davis. (Born 1967, graduated Davis High 1985, graduated UCD 1989 and moved to Bay Area). It was an idealic childhood. I walked to Elementary school and biked to Intermediate, Junior High, and High School. We knew all our neighbors on the cul-de saq our house was on. Yes, where ever there were rentals to college students there were issues - parties, noise, messy houses - but if you get a house on a street with out college studends, it was/is an awesome community. My parents lived there until just this year. Same house - and had many of the same neighbor/friends for 40+ years."
  • Kortney A. C.
"its not. sorry nothing special. people don't know how to drive, or cycle, or walk. too many dogs off the leash, putting the dogs in danger. "
  • Mlpartyka007
"I’ve lived here for 6 years and have loved it. The neighbors are friendly but not pushy. We walk our dog every night and are always greeted with waves and smiles. We’ll miss it. "
  • Mlpartyka007
"Generally single family homes with wide streets, mature trees, and friendly neighbors. We’ve been told by friends that they covet our location!"
  • Danuta
"you have to have a high level of intelligence to truly understand and appreciate the quality of life spent here at academy lane. the interesting and subtleties that go into the effort done by management go a long way. "
  • Danuta
"what makes this neighborhood unique are trains, a park and double decker buses. great town. safe place."
