Assigned Schools
These are the assigned schools for 618 Cypress Pointe St.
- Haynes Bridge Middle School
- 6-8

- 625 Students
7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school, administration barely recognizes and help students with comments or needs, this school is looking like it is about to collapse with holes in the walls, thin walls, the smell and the air is no joke disgusting. The teachers are ok (some are alright some are bad) are boring and barly pay attention to their students. This school also barly has any fun events in or out of school to get the kids motivated. There are too many stupid rules that the children must fallow. In conclusion I highly do not recommend this school.Parent Review3mo ago - Barnwell Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter three years at Barnwell (3rd - 5th grade), we were ecstatic to be done there. The biggest problem is sexism. The teachers hate boys. It’s shocking how unfairly they are treated in same situations compared to the girls. No child should go to school feeling hated for being a boy! The learning materials were garbage, and the teachers don’t care. If you have the chance, go to Dolvin. It’s not perfect, but our experience there was much better than Barnwell.Parent Review5mo ago - Centennial High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLearning:It is a rarity you will find students who are motivated to learn. The pressure put on grades only stuns students' growth and numbers are always the focus. Because the grading system is based on statistics without any kind of consideration for outside pressures or circumstances. Teaching:Teachers are very much a gamble. Some are wonderful and are always willing to support students while others, I'd say a good 60%, have no consideration for students' actual education or well-being. There seems to be a tense relationship between admin and teachers as well. Social-emotional support:Posters are posted around the school of school-based resources for students but as a former student myself... no help whatsoever. There is a MASSIVE equity problem in Cen10 that is never addressed and always ignored. Ask admin or teachers about how a new policy may be discriminatory the blame is shifted to someone else.Special Education:The biggest issue with the Special Education classrooms in Centennial is the lack of integration with the rest f the school. All the classes are clumped together at the end of the school in one low lit hallway. There is no effort to socialize the students. There are no opportunities for students to help or support Special Education classrooms. Seperate from the Special Education classrooms but in the same realm, there are several students with learning disablities or mental illness that are never taken into consideration when tracking their progress in the academic setting.Safety:Fights and threats are common but usually not really an issue between students as its kinda the norm, which of course says a lot about the overall culture in the school. However, I was at Centennial when there was a stabbing in the cafeteria. The cafeteria was not dismissed, people who witnessed it noted the lack of urgency in teachers responses, the school did not go to a lockdown despite that being the school policy. Class continued as usual that day and my group were the next in the cafeteria and they acted as nothing had happened.Family Engagement:There is rarely positive communication between school and parents. If your parents heard something from the school its bad. Tying this back to the stabbing incident, statements are written and released to parents and the local news. No details are included but false reinsurance of their care is guaranteed.Cen10 has problems like every school but its unique in inaction.Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 618 Cypress Pointe St.

"I have lived in this area for more than five years, my parents have been living here for more than 15 years. It is one of the best areas to live in - although, over priced in comparison to how you feel about this town - not all communities are equal - some are mediocre, some middle of the road, some are affluent and beautiful- there are some which are ridiculously priced for what they offer 👎🏼"
