5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter absolutely loves her school. The teachers are incredibly supportive and truly care about their students’ success, both academically and personally. The environment feels safe, welcoming, and positive, which gives me great peace of mind as a parent. I’ve seen my daughter grow in confidence and truly excel in her learning. We are very grateful to be part of such a wonderful school community.Parent Review1mo ago19 Reviews - Austin Academy For Excellence

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAt the time of writing this review I am an 8th grade student enrolled in various classes, such as Principles of Engineering, Varsity (Honors) Band, and Geometry. The content discussed in class is very thorough and is from quality education. However, lessons aren't always engaging, and many teachers just don't know how or don't attempt to control the classroom. Theres always so many people in detention. They also started a "traffic-reducing" system that guess what, created more traffic and accidents. Also, the bathrooms and just about many places are filthy. The school also expects students to supply pencils, tissues, etc... when they should be the ones buying it. Most teachers are good and friendly, but the administration overall has many holes in it. Stepping aside from bashing the school, we recently became an A school, a really impressive feat when looked at from normal education standards in the USA. The elective programs are pretty good, except for football (lose almost every time with 0 points). We have Principles of Engineering, Design, Spanish, French, Professional Communications, and many more extracurricular but valuable classes. Overall, I would recommend this school for its curriculum, prestige, and standards. However, still keep in mind the unsanitary infrastructure, risky social structure, and administration. Everyone is social, but there's always NSFW topics / threats, curses / cusses, dirty talk, and just unspeakable things that even adults shouldn't say, if you talk the way the bad stuff in school is said in, say, church, you would probably be deeply condemned. Just beware. I recommend Austin Academy for Excellence; it is a great school overall. Go eagles!Student Review7mo ago10 Reviews - Beaver Technology Center

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHello I am a student at Classical Center at Brandenburg I am going into 8th grade so it will be my 3rd year here my experience when I was in 6th grade was kind of rough but I understand it was my first year the teachers where enormously nice and welcoming loved it, last year I was in 7th grade I really do recommend to have an emotional resource partner because people are very rude but where just teens the way PTA set up like dances and other activities like really good everyone has so much fun and I enjoy it myself now 8th grade I really don't know how its going to be but if your students wants to be in any electives for 6th grade " GYMNASTICS " is the one I really recommend it because the coaches are really nice and fun there is 2 locker rooms girls and boys, girls share there's with thee girls in dance and the boys don't share they have there owns the coaches go in the locker room but they don't watch the boys change out there is 2 gyms the 2nd gym in split with gymnastics and gym the competition gym really isn't used only for the girls athletics and the Basketball team and there 2 other lockers in there the girls athletic locker do not share and the boys football locker room but I love this school with really good administration fights do happen but have never gotten intense and they take bullying and fights really serious .Student Review9mo ago12 Reviews - Bullock Elementary School

Everyone works very hard for the kids. Toler has year after year (yes, before our son was attending) ranked among the highest across the board. Do not let anyone discourage you from sending your young ones there. They will be in good hands. My son grew and learned so much with them in just one year it blew us away. We know this year will be just as amazing.Parent Review8mo ago13 Reviews - Classical Center At Vial Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family has been with this school in the Montessori program for five years now, and I recommend it. I can't speak for the traditional half of the school, but we LOVE the Montessori! The teachers are incredible; engaging, understanding, inspiring. Love, love, love, the Montessori. There's very little/no homework because of the MOntessori method. Ocassionally depending on the teacher you'll have "read 20 min a day" type of homework, or a child may be asked to finish some work over the weekend that they hadn't finished during school hours that week. But overall homework is minimal, hallelujah. The campus is hyper-safe. The admin are VERY careful with outsiders, to the point they don't allow afterschool clubs/sports and they don't allow people during the day to eat lunch with their child/visit classrooms/be a "room parent" and help teachers, etc, unless you are on the PTA board, because they are so concerned with keeping the school safe. I love the commitment to safety, but I do wish there were clubs/sports opportunities for the kids. Surely we could find a happy medium. Maybe a parent who was willing to be fingerprinted/background checked could coach? I would love a low-pressure sport or club opportunity. The admin overall is great, and if you are diligent about getting to know them/helping the campus, they are very easy to work with. If the principal doesn't know you, it is harder to work with her and get things done. The Principal is a little grumpy. I've been around her for five years, and I've never had a particularly warm experience with her. I've overheard her speaking harshly to kids. The Vice principal and other office staff are balanced in how they interact with kids. Sometimes warm, sometimes stern; normal. The nurse is particularly warm and inclusive. We've absolutely ADORED all the specials teachers and staff! Overall great school and we've loved our experience. We just wish there were clubs ;)Parent Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Back Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBack Elementary has been a disappointing experience in many ways. The atmosphere is far from welcoming, primarily due to the principal's questionable leadership style. Rather than fostering a supportive environment for both students and staff, the principal often resorts to bullying tactics. This creates a culture of fear rather than encouragement, making it difficult for teachers to thrive and for students to feel safe and valued. The lack of communication and support from the administration is glaring. Instead of addressing concerns, the principal seems to dismiss them, which only adds to the frustration. It's disheartening to see how detrimental this leadership is to the school's morale and overall learning environment.Other Review11mo ago26 Reviews - Lyles Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do NOT recommend this school. They do not care about the personalities of the people they hire, just that they will work. So many rude teachers and administrators at this school, not to mention it is insanely disorganized and not safe for kids to grow. There are fights constantly, most go unreported because the teachers don’t care enough to do anything about it. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD’S MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH, DO NOT ENROLL THEM HERE! I also suspect they have substandard teaching levels, as both kids have needed tutoring at this school but have not struggled before they transferred here.Other Review1mo ago5 Reviews - Liberty Grove Elementary School
