5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to Daniel Boone my freshman year and was in their MCJROTC and it really increased my school experience. The school itself is pretty awful. Teachers didn't really care about teaching you, they just wanted to get TN Ready over with and get you out of their class. I want to encourage you, that if you have to go to Boone than be in JROTC, it will enhance your experiences at Boone. You will grow in leadership.Student Review7y ago - University School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school was below average. It is a very underfunded school with a lack of resources. Which is understandable because they get their funding from the college. However, this school makes it hard for students if they are struggling because "they knew the school was challenging when they decided to join." School starts AT THE BEGINNING OF JULY. It doesn't operate on a block schedule which makes it hard for students to leave if they wanted to. Only a few of the math teachers are decent, which is why you see many people dual enrolling in math classes. They essentially FORCE you to dual enroll because they don't provide all the necessary classes to graduate. Many of the students end up going to ETSU so it doesn't really matter I guess. No transportation provided. Their arts program is horrible. So unless you actually plan on majoring in a STEM career (which they barely prepare you for), there's no point in going. My biggest thing with this school is that there is a HUGE lack of diversity. MOST students are white with a handleful of non-white students. Students are pasive agressive and many of them have been together for years so its hard to make friends unless you really force yourself into their circles. They say the ballot system is random, but if you take a look at the students, its not a surprise who they favor.Other Review4y ago - Washington County Adult High School

"I guess all in all its like most other neighborhoods any more. You have your good and bad. There is a elementary school down the road. There is a college a couple of gad stations and a dollar store so a few conveniences but it is busy on the main road. The local volunteer fire department is very active and seem friendly. The crime rate locally does seem higher but I think it is increasing everywhere. People seem to leave you alone if you don't bother them maybe if you socialized they would but I don't have kids so I can't speak on that."
