Difficult because of the number of broken bones, bruises, and contusions, due to bullying/assault/battery that goes without consequences. There are more teachers in this school with advanced degrees in their subject matter than in most schools. As a parent, I would support stronger rules and expectations. My "expectation" of the school would be hardline discipline for repeat students who never get consequences, support of fine teachers, and backing by parents and students of the administration making a full, safe, quiet(in the classroom) educational environment where all children can advance academically.

Teachers have limited resources, however work hard to close gaps with high energy and effort. It’s 100% SOL focused, process discipline with very little free learning. There’s severe bullying tolerance with teachers lacking effective practices of addressing it. Administrative leadership at this school is top end of terrible, very friendly but if you have any issue he will openly blame a teacher and not take any ownership in getting it resolved. Lastly don’t ever ask the bookkeeper : secretary for support, she has zero follow up skills and shows lack of respect to everyone on the staff.

Definitely do not feel the school is safe. Staff in the front office yelling at my child in front of me in a very disrespectful tone. I was appalled by the unprofessional behavior by administration. Hopefully, there will be more protocols with respect to parents and staff in the near future. This school is newer but the school culture is low.

The administration and staff has no concern for your child's wellbeing and safety. They take no accountability at all for anything. The school staff make very poor decisions when it comes to bullying and your child being assaulted. Our child was assaulted, stabbed with a pencil. I only asked that the child be removed from the class to insure my child was safe. The principal gave me her word that she would move her. Then left the kid in the class with ours and denied ever saying that. The principal told me I was wrong and that she never said that. Who in the right mind would leave the assailant in the same class at the victim. She was going to do just that. The superintendent is almost impossible to get ahold of for anything. I’m guessing he is a master a dodging parents. Is a tell tail sign that your schools are a mess. We ended up removing our 1st grader and placing him in private school for his overall health, safety, and self esteem. Fluvanna county schools do not care if your child is safe and this school rewards bullying.
