6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give this school 0 stars I would, but I cant. The food is horrible, no adult in the building cares about your mental health and middle schoolers don't get to touch grass like I am not joking if you stand on the grass you will get yelled at by a councilor. Don't even get me started on the punishments. I got a detention for saying "Hi" to the teacher. If you ask the teacher for water or to go to the bathroom, sometimes the teacher will say no, for just no reason I cannot do basic necessities like go to the bathroom of get water. also if you have a toy or something in the classroom or even the hallways even if you are not using it it will get taken away. Now you might see that as reasonable but one time I had a rubber band ball that took 8 hours to make I was not even playing with it and it got taken away and the teacher said no when I asked for it back at the end of the class. that was a month ago and I still do not have it back. If you put a sticker on the locker that is fine but towards the end of the school year janitors will start taking them off and just throwing them away. I had a tacocat sticker that my brother got me at his first job and guess what? thrown away by a janitor. This school is horrible and I actually got depressed because of the bullying that was not handled by the school even though I talked to my teacher like 10 different times about it maybe ever more. Do not go to this school.Parent Review11mo ago - Edward G. Molin Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNewburyport is a beautiful, vibrant town, attracting financially fruitful families solely for its location & lifestyle . As such, most assume the schools in such a town would excel. Families need to dig deeper and ask real questions if they truly care about their child's education. Math is taught from hand drawn xerox sheets. English includes no spelling or grammar, and is dominated by free read time. Instead of broadening their exposure to classic literature, and learning to exercise & deepen critical thinking skills, students read oversimplified, generic modern day classroom anecdotes. History & science are virtually non-existent.Administration goes through the motions, teaching is uninspired, and creating an environment of inspired, enlightened thinkers is not even on their radar. Getting children though required classes and public testing en masse is the focus. If your child is intellectually curious, excited about learning & thrives with academic rigor, this is not the right school. There is no standard of discipline, excellence or accountability for students or teachers.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 61-63 Federal St #3.

"Very dog-friendly. I see people walking their dogs all the time. My own dog loves walking the two rail trails they have, connecting bath parts of the town. The downtown stores always offer water outside for dogs. People are very friendly. I know three organic, all natural dog stores that encourage you to bring your dogs, as well as five dog groomers all within a ten minute walk from my house. Great dog town. "
