They refused to listen to our childs plea for help while the kids who play on the local football team bullied, harassed and tormented him the last two weeks of school. The excuse the teachers gave our child was "if you dont know their names or have any witnesses we cant believe what you say." How in the world is our child suppose to know the names of their bullies???? Judging by their response, the school protects their athletes and throws everyone else under the bus. Trying to reach the principal during the last two weeks of school was impossible. It was like they actively avoided dealing with the situation because school was almost over. The same bully harassed our child on orientation night before school even started! Their parents openly mocked our child as well. The staff need to be investigated and evaluated. I hope the district is reading this.Parent Review2y ago - Pigeon Forge High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school boxes parents out of as much as possible, and when I disagree with the school on education for my child they force the issue on us. The teachers and staff cover each others butts but don’t do nearly as much for the kids as they claim. My sons edu has not moved an inch in two years based on overall progress. Overall my children and my relationship has been way way worse since my children have moved to this area. My children went from happy and calm, to aggressive and cold hearted…..I know a lot of it is coming from this community because my two kids issues have become way worse since they have been here…..I’ve done everything possible to try to move them out of this school but the school is more focused on power and control than education and facilitating family/school bal……I gave one star because hey…..they show up everyday!Parent Review5mo ago - Jones Cove Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs far as we have been enrolled at this school for 4 months now and not only have we not had any help when asked but they also allowed my 1st grader to get on a random bus unknowingly and weren’t able to inform me of her whereabouts for over an hour. On the teacher note I have asked and asked for ways to help her academically for the teachers to ignore me or reply hours or days later we’ll past bed time or time to be able to help her. We bring issues and problems up to the teacher to just be brushed aside. My child is made to feel like she isn’t cared for. She’s complained of headaches to be told “well I don’t know what to do for you” she complained about other kids being mean to be told “well?” She’s came home telling me she got hurt at school and they did nothing for her. My child has a problem holding her attention and we’ve talked to the teachers on ways to help to just get told “tell her to pay attention” …like we haven’t tried that already? We’ve tried talking to the teachers about her anxiety over being rushed to just continue to hear her cry about how the teachers are rushing her and won’t help her. On top of it I’ve never been allowed in the school or even met these teachers face to face so all in all our experience at this school in as little as 4 months has been nothing but heartbreaking as a parent for my FIRST grader to have to go through.Parent Review2y ago - Northview Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageConstant drug wars going on here, staff is terrible and immature. For math the teachers just show notes and expect kids to learn or in physics they only covered chemistry and never learned anything to do with physics. For fights it's not fair who gets punished, the aggressor gets only 3 days of in school suspension and the person acting in self defense also gets thrown into trouble just because. If you are failing in a class that teacher will not help you in succeeding in their class either. I've had the worst time here with students and teachers. Students are acting like gang members and are terrible to each other and the staff do nothing while kids are doing drugs in the bathroom or on the bus. I was on the bus one day and another school bus rear ended ours and gave most kids whiplash, another time my bus driver ran over 2 peoples mailbox in one run. Terrible school system and super unfair.Student Review1y ago - Wearwood Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy youngest grandchild receives excellent care and teaching. You can’t base the entire survey on one bad seed. I have heard plenty to back this accusation and it would seem a certain teacher needs to be reviewed and counseled on her bullying behavior. It is a shame when a adult over steps and uses their power to behave in such a disgraceful manner.Other Review3y ago - Pigeon Forge Primary School

"The city as a whole has becoming increasingly “sketchy” throughout. It still has good parts but even those areas are not as good as what they were 8 years ago. I’d suggest doing some strong research."

"Someone tried to break into our house once while we were home. And raccoons tear up our garbage bins every week. Lots of homeless people waking around and speeding cars "

"We live on the water and we get to see a lot of boats/yachts go by. We are also close to campus so there is still a youthful vibe to the neighborhood. Knoxville has some of the best sunsets around, and being so close to downtown has made it easy to socialize. I would recommend better access to public transportation, but aside from that, this is a lovely place to live."
