My son has Level 1 autism and a learning disability, he receives zero support. His IEP and speech therapy were cancelled. His speech is choppy, he doesn't remember how objects are called, he has a hard time to put sentences together due to processing. Apparently, he doesn't struggle enough to deserve any kind of support. Due to my mistake in the intake form, he is in English Learner Program. English is his first language. He doesn't need English classes, he needs Speech therapy! Since he has zero support during the English testing, he can never get out of this program. No one is taking into consideration that his understanding and expression is affected by his diagnosis. The principal suggested that, maybe, I'm a helicopter parent, and I see things that are not there. And, right after that, she suggested that, maybe, I don't pay enough attention to him. I have paperwork from doctors for his diagnosis! So entitled and arrogant. She likes to listen to herself and give long pointless speeches. All school meeting are held during working hours, so if you actually work, you can never attend. No emotional support for my daughter struggling to make friends either. I'm looking into ways to switch school for the sake of my children.

My child went to CHS for 2years and switched to Madison high school, so I give you the honest opinions here. CHS needs to improve the discipline of students. There are students who bring bad stuff to school every where (it’s way more at CHS maybe due to the nature of family dynamics) but the difference between the 2 schools, Madison faculty staff are not afraid to conduct backpack searches and call the parents right away whereas CHS had never done even though I had suggested them to do. CHS is not competitive in sports sadly (never seen a game they won at football, basketball, they are great at waterpolo) whereas Madison is in higher division and winning a lot of games in many sports. There are many students who shine in athletically and academically at Madison. Now sure why Madison is getting such a low rate here but to me, Madison has a higher quality of excellence in teachers and students themselves. I’ve never felt uncomfortable with Madison kids in football games but many of CHS students were disrespectful towards adults and I’ve even seen someone vaping in the crowd. No teacher was spotted there. Many cases of threatening at CHS, never heard at Madison in 2years.I would like to say thank you to the teachers and vice principal to lead my child to the right path.

My family has been at Innovation the last three years and we love the school. The staff is so caring to make sure kids succeed and make sure they are emotionally ok. They have a zero tolerance for bullying and rarely hear about things happening at the school. The school really motivates kids for good behavior and creates many events for families. The staff is really dedicated to the kids.
