Our son currently attends 6th grade and he loves it. He is an honor roll student and has done great thus far. The teachers communicate effectively with our family and the principal is always striving to make sure the school is safe. There are some troubled students of course like anywhere else but I blame their parents for their bad behavior and not the staff. We are very involved with our children’s assignments and email back and forth as needed with the teachers. The front office is not the best, they can be rude and don’t answers our questions. It seems more like we are a bother every time we go in or call but other than that the rest of the teaching staff is amazing.

My children hate going to school here. It is a fight every single day. Everyday my children come home to tell me that an adult either screamed at them or at another student. My daughter used to want to buy lunch but she is terrified of the cafeteria workers because they are so rude and yell all the time. I watched an adult building service worker yell in the face of another 5th grade student and threaten to tell the principal. I dont understand how they have any authority over students. Its not their job. My son tries to hold his bladder all day because he was made to pick up trash in the bathroom he didnt put there and was scolded and falsely accused by another budding service worker. We are considering moving at this point. My kids are scared to go to school. The administrators are so disrespectful and rude. I have never met such horrible humans before. Private school or homeschooling would be better. Superintendent Navarro and the BOE have really gone down hill over the years.

Reason for a 1-star. My overall experience wasn't an issue. It was the fact I was told I wouldn't run into any problems enrolling in any colleges if I graduated early and here I am 2022 trying to enroll in UNCFSU but I was rejected because I only had 3 math credits and I need 4 in ordered to be accepted. The lady I spoke with at UNCFSU noticed that I took a Financial Literacy class and she let me know that if I contacted someone that confirmed that they could count that as a Math class they would accept me into UNCFSU. I understand that CHARLES COUNTY counts it as a fin literacy class, but for the sake of me getting into college they still said there is nothing they can do. What an annoying inconvenience. That can be solved but they rather be stubborn.
