8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you’re interested in a Wolk environment, that places social issues above education, this is the place for you. It caters to the lowest common denominator at the expense of serious students. If you’re a self-starter and seriously motivated student, you might survive. It can offer a quality education, but those opportunities diminish year-by-year as political agenda takes hold. There is little to no repercussions for violent behavior.Parent Review1y ago - Emerson Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEmerson is an excellent school. The kids all get art 1x per week, along with music (woodwinds, strings and brass are available in 4th grade), PE (2x per week) and science. The teachers are super experienced, and the school culture is very caring and kind.Parent Review11mo ago - Sylvia Mendez Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePhenomenal school is every way. Diverse and welcome in learning community with high quality teachers in TK and K. My student has thrived here and I can’t wait to see what next school year brings. The after school staff really connected with my student and principal Hunt is a very dedicated. Don’t skip the potluck and movie nights as well as other school functions like back to school etc. they are so so worth it. Forgot to mention one of the best aspects, the specialists! My student has dance, garden, nutrition/ wellness, and art!Parent Review1y ago - Willard Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have two children currently enrolled in John Muir Elementary. We love this school. The curriculum is great, teachers are totally invested, experienced and excellent, and the principal is wonderful. The building and grounds are lovely. The after school offerings are varied and plentiful.Prior to attending John Muir, our children were in private school in SF. We feel our John Muir experience is on par, and indeed better than the private school experience -- we're getting a top notch education and NOT paying ~$40K/year for it. The community is lovely as well. Many parents participate in events and volunteer often.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 6031 Chabolyn Ter.

"I grew up on Oakvale Ave & Domingo, and even as a kid I felt that Claremont was the best neighborhood ever: so many families, with genuine community spirit, and all kinds of beautiful, secret places to explore (safely). Now that I’ve lived in Palo Alto, Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Manhattan—and raising my own three children in Brooklyn—it’s clear to me that this neighborhood is a uniquely special, sometimes magical, place to grow up. I wish I could move it to Brooklyn!"
