4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a former student of JL long. I left due to an incident that happened there. But that isn't the reason I'm here to talk. I wanted to share how this school is bad. I went to this school in 2021-2022, I was in 7th grade. The safety for students isn't good, fights would happen every single day. Everyone would go to the hallways and try to watch the fight take place. I stayed away from that stuff. The student social media pages are also very bad. The worst ones are on Instagram, but I won't get into that. I pity anyone who is innocent and goes here for the first time. I understand that this is a public school and its kind of hard to handle 1480 kids at once, but if you are going to make it like an environment where I can't work right, then you just cant handle a school. "It is a great place to live. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Everything is within walking distance. I rent though and cannot afford to buy. Wish that I could but property values over here are all over $350k way above my budget. "

"I commute up to Richardson on 75. It´s a quick trip if I leave by 7:15 am but by 7:30 it’s slows a little and gets about 30% longer as measured by time. "

"Excellent public schools - Woodrow Wilson High (IB and AP) is nationally ranked. The middle school, J. L. Long (also IB), regularly beats prestigious private schools in science and math competitions. There is a choice of elementary schools, two are IB (International Baccalaureate). It’s rare to find a neighborhood with this. "
