Sul Ross Middle School has been one of the most disappointing and concerning school environments I have encountered. Bullying is routinely ignored, and students are allowed to fight outside classrooms with little to no consequence. There is a clear lack of enforcement when it comes to behavior, discipline, and student safety.Teachers and staff appear overwhelmed or indifferent, and meaningful action is rarely taken even after repeated incidents. My child has been attacked multiple times, yet the school failed to hold the responsible students accountable. This sends a dangerous message that bullying and violence are tolerated.Security measures are extremely lacking. There should be stricter supervision, enforcement of dress code, and bag inspections at entry, similar to what is done in other secure facilities. Cameras should be present in hallways and classrooms to ensure transparency and accountability.Leadership is also a major concern. The administration has not demonstrated urgency or commitment to protecting students. A safe learning environment starts at the top, and unfortunately, that is not what is being provided here.Children deserve to feel safe at school. Until stronger discipline policies, proper security, and real accountability are enforced, this school will continue to fail the students who need protection the most.

Spare yourself and go to another elementary school. Cynthia had us going back and forth for 2 weeks. We would bring once thing in to register a pre k student and then she would mention another. Then another. Then another. Instead of telling us all once. Zero consideration for working parents and the time they need to take all the documents to the school. Different requirements for Pre K that she says are online but you really need to look for cause they aren’t the ones posted at all. Nowhere online does it say that if you live in someone else’s residence, you need to bring that person in as well. So Cynthia also likes to make up her own rules or tell people everything is online when it actually isn’t but she won’t tell you all you need upfront either. Will not give you all the information up front and 2 weeks later will just say “sorry! Can’t go back in time! That’s life! There are rules!” Yes there are! Like not disclosing child information to other people but the parents but I was just helping the parent of this child register and she gave me and took all confidential information without ever asking who I was. There are better schools that will take care of you and care for your kids and time more. Go with those instead.
