"It’s close to the park and a track you can walk. Everyone around us are very friendly and pick up their lawns. "
    • mlphakey
"Have lived in the village over fifteen years with multiple children of various ages, elementary to college, walking distance to high school for all the sports, teen activities, priceless. High school suffers from academic mediocrity, lack of strong, implemented vision for post high school achievement for all students. Having to travel for entertainment, restaurants, grocery shopping, etc. etc. is expensive. Taxes also expensive. Small town feel, can feel safe to some, insular, nepotistic, and rigid thinking to others, depends on your perspective. Garbage collection is not "free", paid out of taxes. Quaint Vermont village look is being lost due to generic "condo" multifamilies being put helter skelter into town core. Beautiful vistas of Mt. Mansfield and four wind turbines on Georgia Mt. reflect the confused identity the area struggles with. Needs natural gas line extension to be run from either Georgia or St. Albans into Fairfax for more affordable heating choices for school facilities and homes in order for people to continue to see this as an affordable town to locate to or be able to continue to live in. Town elected officials have done nothing to promote this at local or state level and continue to focus on other trivial and self-serving posturing. We can't afford to stay here in retirement."
