Another fantastic feature not found on many homes in this area is a whole house generator that automatically comes on within seconds of a power outage. I just installed a totally new TRANE heating and cooling system @$7000 and a new hot water system. In the kitchen there are granite counters and stainless steel appliances all purchased within the last 18 months. As you walk in the front door you enter a huge great room with a beautiful thermostatically controlled gas fireplace that faces out 6 patio doors leading to the back patio and fenced in huge backyard. The yard is full of apple, pear, peach ,nectarine, figs and cranberry trees. On the property there is a large detached garage with a huge workshop and an attached huge 2car carport. Also there is and insulated wired heated and cooled game room with hardwood floors behind the garage and an attached large storage shed with concrete floor. Behind the game room sits a small boat house. There is another art shop just off the huge concrete back patio and it is also insulated, wired with air conditioning and heat. This house is built to withstand whatever mother nature throws at it and it is not in a flood zone and a fire hydrant is located just across the street in front of the house. I purchased this home in 2004 and have loved living here but now that I'm older and in failing health it's time to sell and downsize. I am talking with a realtor and might list it soon if I can't sell as owner. I have not had the time or energy to stage the home to make it look all fresh and neat but if you have a sense of how it could look with your décor, I know you will fall in love with it as I did back in 2004. Also, this property is only going to increase in value in that it is only 2 minutes from the beaches of Topsail Island and there is both a middle and elementary school going to be built by Pender county within just a few blocks of this property. Another option that might be available it to have it dual zoned in case you wanted to start a business here---there's plenty of land. Most homes in this area going for this price are only on a 1/4 acre lot with neighbors right on top of you. I have planted many fruit bearing trees that are now producing and I've established a very productive organic garden where I grow all the vegetables i eat. Also, being this close to the ocean and waterway gives me plenty of opportunities to catch all the flounder, trout and drum that me and my friends can eat. In my garage I am leaving a like new, radial arm saw, drill press, table saw and air compressor and work benches for anyone inclined to be creative or constructive. Because of my age and health status, I now have come to the realization that I need to downsize to something much smaller and that is the only reason I am hoping to sell to someone who will love them as I have.
