"Public transit is shite; the city cares more about improving the main roads instead of providing better routes for the buses. "
  • fruitsnackbears
"The city isn’t particularly walkable, so people with dogs resort to taking them to local parks to play."
  • Kristi Jones
"Traffic is bad depending on where you are commuting to and from. I live more on northport side and don’t go through downtown everyday "
  • Mcenna Cowger
"Alot of trash, No walking, nice mainly older people, very beautiful neighborhood though minus trash "
  • Marcus Wash
"I love the environment. Tuscaloosa is a very special place. I’m not from Alabama but I love that I’m here now."
  • Courtney Morrison
"I have lived here 7 years, I enjoy the neighborhood but I do feel it has went downhill due to some uncaring and disrespectful renters in the neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"Unsafe and not kid friendly. Violence and eyesores all around. Surrounding schools are failing schools. The neighborhood that lack essentials that many people need to survive. "
  • Trulia User
"We are near everything Tuscaloosa has to offer. If you work at UA, downtown or DCH, it is a 4 minute commute"
  • Trulia User
"There is a huge park on the river where you could walk and play with your dog. The only downside is that most dog parks are inside of individual neighborhoods and the only public one is over 9 miles away."
  • Trulia User
"Nice area to live in nice people nice outside nice weather outside good weather a lot of nice people and lots of fun quality and good areas here "
  • Lourdie12
"Nice place to walk with leashed dogs! Dogs should be curbed and the University park is very nice to walk your dog"
  • Stangoffjr
"The neighborhood seems friendly enough. Most properties are well maintained. Several rental properties which do not seem to devalue properties. The Hillcrest school system could use an overhaul. Scale 1-10 (7). "
  • Anointed One
"Decent area with decent community. Bananas even college is in on game nights. Schools are great in this area."
  • Melo K.
"They would like the side walks and parks located near the area. It’s quite a pet friendly area. Most residents own dogs. Gates are most properties and pet areas are well kept. "
  • Trulia User
"Minimum traffic. Easy access to local restaurants, malls and interstate. School traffic is low and well managed in my area. "
  • Vickie H.
"Not pet friendly, you have to pay extra if you own pets. Very seldom do I see dogs and never see people walking dogs. Do see stray cats from time to time."
  • Cpurnell2323
"We have neighborhood food trucks & walkways. Shopping, grocery stores & medical needs are mins away."
  • Jackie H.
"The area is conveniently located near grocery stores and shopping area. Schools are close by, also. The neighborhood is safe."
  • Kiara D.
"we do absolutely nothing collectively in our neighborhood! however, the neighbors are friendly, when you speak to them."
  • Sarahminordesign
"Great area to live. Close to everything. Grocery store. Gas stations. Great schools. Quiet neighborhood. "
  • Lesleyannsmits
"It’s college kids. It takes 10-12 minutes to walk to very central places but it’s college kid area. I love to walk so the walk is nice, but construction is always there and the price of every day things are marked up. I do love 12th Street-it’s slightly calmer and than the Other streets. "
  • Llay180
"The people honestly, on holidays or not there is always a celebration. Happy and pure with life although tainted a little. It’s practically like going to a family reunion meeting all the family you didn’t know you had"
  • Lesleyannsmits
"It’s an 8 minute walk to edge of campus, it’s amazing if you’re in school. You can walk places if you want, but not many options to walk to, unless you want to walk really far to Downtown. "
  • Leah M.
"great location to avoid traffic in a college town and still have access to plenty of grocery and restaurant options"
  • Lex
"It’s not a safe place to live in general, especially for dogs and cats. If your pet gets out, don’t expect to get them back. "
  • Lex
"It’s okay unless it’s 7am, 3pm, 5pm, and 11pm. During those times, traffic is the worst. Any other time you should be okay. "
  • Willmarshall35
"We don’t have any neighborhood events. We just fix the house up on holidays and let the kids walk to see everything. "
  • Jemeka H.
"We don’t have many gated areas and it’ll be dangerous to keep dogs and children in the same enviornment. "
  • Perry D. H.
"I grew up in this neighborhood and now live here with my husband and two kids. It’s always been an area that’s great for families. The schools are less than 5 minutes away and the golf course is great to walk on. People even fish in the ponds. "
  • Nmunderwood79
"I’ve lived here since 95 and watched this community grow! It’s quiet and the neighbors look out for each other "
  • Cmstolting
"Need car to get around. If you live close to downtown then you’ll be surrounded by students. I live 15min away and live by mostly professionals"
  • Albertinap1
"No sidewalks. No parking. Stray animals. People don’t like dogs. Not safe. The railroad holds for long periods of time at crossings. "
  • Melo K.
"MLK parades Church events School events that’s pretty much all. Everything else is done on other side of town. "
  • Raf2590
"The neighborhood is kid friendly. All neighbors look out for each other. It’s quiet. ................."
  • Vickie H.
"City curfew for 17 and under, not really safe, crime rate is high. Most neighborhoods well kept. No youth activity centers. Consist of mostly lower income housing and lower priced homes."
  • Kim H.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years. I love my neighbors. the neighborhood association is active. there are two churches & a school. it's convenient."
  • Jay
"This neighborhood is ok for college style living. I wouldn't recommend it for anything other than that though. Pricing is decent but you get what you pay for."
  • MaudE
"I have owned a house here for over 20 years. I keep an apartment in it, and rent out the other spaces. Druid City Historic District, beautiful old houses and quiet safe streets. People are friendly but not nosey. Perfect location, 15 min walk to UA football games, 5 min walk to Government Plaza. Amphitheater, River Market, all the downtown restaurants and bars nearby. Queen City has joined UA campus, downtown, and river commerce for the nearly 200 years Tuscaloosa has been here."
  • Zaphod Beeblebrox
"A bunch of very ignorant people live here. They're so primitive they think digital watches are a pretty neat thing."
  • Kelliewalsh1212
"The University fo Alabama is pretty cool. It’s loud, but fun. I have grown out of it. Great for when you are in college"
