Although, at this time, I would not strongly recommend this school, it is in no way a reflection of the principal and a majority of the teaching staff. The principal, Mrs. Williamson, is wonderful, kind, intelligent and very passionate about her school and her position with the school. She truly cares about her students and makes an effort to be involved as much as possible. From standing in the car rider line in the mornings to hand out masks due to state mandates to cheering on the student athletes before attending undergraduate school until late in the evenings. I cannot say enough good things about her. The majority of the administration staff and teaching staff follow closely to Mrs. Williamson's example and standards. However, my biggest complaint is against the PE department. The teachers chosen for these positions were very clearly "bottom of the barrel". My child, along with countless other children, have been severely bullied, including, harassment and physical assault, during PE classes because the teachers seem to only be interested in conversing with each other in the corner while the students run wild and free. They continuously choose to ignore the rules regarding cell phone use during educational times, as the cell phones occupy the students so the teachers can be left to chit chat uninterrupted. It is just very disappointing and extremely discouraging because this school really could be on the "great schools" under Mrs. Williamson's strong leadership and guidance. Unfortunately, a few bad apples will always spoil the bunch. I am still hopeful this will be corrected, and these "teachers" will be reprimanded for their errors.

I wish I had read the comment from 2012 before allowing my child to attend.

I went to South and my 3 sisters also went and it is truly a great school. They put in a ton of effort to make sure all students are accommodated in the classroom. I graduated in 2019 and have some teacher friends who are great at their jobs. The teachers there really put in effort to build meaningful relationships with their students.
