6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had two students at WTMS — one neuro-typical who sailed through (without ever being academically challenged) and one with ADD and processing challenges who was poorly supported (the school recommended wild changes to his IEP from year to year) and routinely punished for behavior within the spectrum of his diagnosis. The current (temporary) building is a disaster — lacking in all the things that makes school fun (a gym, a cafeteria, an auditorium), and in such a nightmarish location (hemmed in by super busy streets, next to a notoriously unsafe park where the kids go to recess and are contained in a single field as if it’s a prison yard). I had such high hopes for WTMS but four years in and I can’t wait for it to be over. Poor administration, and but for a few great teachers, it’s otherwise a revolving door faculty (some have even left in the middle of the year). The only peers who are going to Prospect High are those without a viable alternative option. Would I do it again for the sibling preference for middle school or the guaranteed high school slot (that’s the only reason I kept my kids here)? Probably not. The Brooklyn Prospect charter system started out as one of the good ones but has grown too quickly and has been unable to replicate their early successes on a bigger scale. If your kid is the type to succeed anywhere, it’s probably ok, but if they need any kind of care, understanding, or support, I would not recommend WTMS.Parent Review1y ago - MS 442 Carroll Gardens School for Innovation

"I have been here for almost two years now and love how family oriented it is. The buildings have so much old Brooklyn charm without looking like expensive Brooklyn Heights. I am an adventurous eater and will try all the new food trends and that doesn’t really happen here. For exotic fusion food, I have to go to Williamsburg or lower Manhattan for it. "
