2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated this year from inglewood high school and I cant say it's a bad school. The negatives of the school would be that there are many students that don't take the school seriously, the staff isn't understanding, the counselors wont help much, the attendance office was the worse, the worst part about this school was that every idea that we gave to raise money or to have fun would be rejected. I was a teachers assistant on my senior year and the most frustrating thing was that the students always waiting until the day before the grades are due to turn in items that the teacher repeatidly told them to turn in, it would be frustrating and annoying. The positives of this school was the food was great, the electives are really interesting if the student is willing to try new things, it has a college center in the main building, and has amazing ap courses. Although the school isn't so challenging and doesn't have much money. You have to work with what you have I would recommend a day at the school and see how the students and teachers behaveOther Review9y ago - Parent (Frank D.) Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLack of Teachers A K - 8th school without enough teachers can be a challenging environment for students. Teacher shortages are disproportionately hurting low-income schools, where recruitment and burnout are especially difficult problems. The lack of teachers can lead to larger class sizes, which can make it difficult for students to receive the individual attention they need to succeed. And that's EXACTLY what this school is! In addition, a bad teacher can damage a student’s confidence and self-perception, leading to long-term negative effects on their academic performance and mental health. In such a school, students may face social challenges as well. Middle school can be a psychologically demanding time for students, as they navigate the onset of early adolescent change and the need to form a second social family outside of homes. It is important for students to have a supportive environment to help them through these challenges. My poor child (8th grade) goes to this school and I have never seen her struggle this much before. I am honestly scared for her future and it is taking all of me not to move her to a BETTER school. She has made such good friends and I do not want to see her sad if she does move. The sad thing is that she LITERALLY ONLY HAS ONE TEACHER IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, and should at least have 5-7 teachers. She is not getting the proper education that she needs in order to succeed in high-school. Poor Environment Don't even get me started with the environment of this place. When it was back to school night, right then and there I saw that this was the number on my list of worst schools that a child can go to. Lots of things were either broken, not well kept, or even just not there when it should be or there when it shouldn't be. It's really sad to have to think about my child going here every day. They expect her to carry more than 5 HEAVY BOOKS on her back every day because they don't have lockers when there are TONS of space for them. It's just ridiculous and will not be happening regardless of what they say. I will not risk my daughter having back problems when she is barely an adult. Not to mention trash being everywhere, the bathrooms don't have doors that work, teachers that ARE there being rude as hell, and much more that is every parents worse nightmare. So just trust me as a mother and DO NOT SEND YOUR KID(S) HERE!! PLEASE!!Other Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 5838 S Chariton Ave.

"Limited sidewalks and street lighting at night. I rarely walk or stroll around in the area and drive everywhere. A few restaurants and a coffee shop is walkable, about 15 minutes on near Wilshire."

"Very walkable streets and high dog population neighborhood. Lots of people out walking in the evenings on a nice day, many with baby strollers, dogs or both."
- Adam Harman

"We moved to this neighborhood as a predominate work-from-home location. It’s a good community with lots of lot space where even in heavy commuter traffic you can get to the west side in ~45 mins. This feels especially satisfying compared to further out communities that people go for similar space but require 1-1.5 hour commutes each way."

"Neighborhood has yearly events, such as a holiday get together and the area draws a lot of people for Halloween festivities. There’s a number of young families that have come into the area in the past couple years and there’s good above average interaction and playtime amongst them, compared to other areas of Los Angeles from experience."

"A few good parks for dogs at the periphery of the neighborhood, many dog lovers. However sidewalks disappear at critical moments making walking with a dog treacherous and there's some big dog phobia here (same as many parts of LA) "
