I love Piper. I've attended the high school for 3 years now. Sure they have their flaws, any school does, but I wouldn't want to leave for the world.

Piper as a district has let my kids and I down. We've been in this district for 8 years and each year has grown progressively worse. The teachers at the M.S. have stripped my black of any hope and/or desire to learn. I receive calls from the grade -level administrator weekly to inform me of something my child has done wrong. These are "childish" behaviors of which should be expected from a child such as, running in the hallway, giggling when someone passes gas, slapping someone's had down when they're physically putting hitting my child in the face. If you are considering Piper for the next school for your children - of color- I would not recommend sending them here. The elementary schools are no better, unfortunately. I do not care to go into the specifics to protect my children, But I certainly plan to come back to complete my thoughts after I withdraw my children from Piper School district. I am both saddened and disappointed to watch my children experience racial segregation in the 21st century.

I move to the piper area about 3 years ago, when my boys were in the 1st & 3rd grade, and I really felt like my kids got the best attention. The teachers really care about the students which makes a difference in how the students respond to the school work. We recently had to move due to relocation of a job, but my family really miss the atmosphere and the love that we got from Piper. Go Pirates!
