About this House

Welcome to Wilshire Heights, a quiet friendly and well-established neighborhood in the heart of Tucson that shows fabulous pride of ownership from the moment one enters this wonderful community. With only a few streets entering the area and gentle speed bumps to make them safe for the neighborhood children who gather and ride bikes here, it's quiet and comfortable but still near the best that Tucson has to offer---3 neighborhood parks including the Sears Disc Golf Park, walkable shopping and dining at the Park Mall and the nearby recently reinvigorated Broadway area, terrific medical care close by, and a nearby charter school as well. This available home is warm, welcoming and has been quite well loved and enjoyed by its current owners. With plenty of room for everyone and their buddies to gather, either inside or in the fabulous rear yard, and three large bedrooms beyond the master suite, there is room for a lively family here. A brick faÃfÆ'Ã,§ade and a Meyer Lemon tree famous throughout the neighborhood lead to the front main entry, handsome oversized double doors accented with distinctive leaded crystal glass. Inside, the comfortable living room has attractive wooden beamed and lined ceiling and a large gas fireplace set into a flagstone wall and enjoying a flagstone seated hearth and mantle. The mantle provides an electric outlet in which to plug holiday decorations, which the homeowners have greatly enjoyed. There is also a large family room with its own entrance, that calls out for a jukebox, large screen TV and pool table for gathering and occasional dancing....think kids/teenagers! The kitchen is roomy and cozy, with updated maple cabinetry including convenient pull-out drawers to reach everything. With two pantries, a five burner stove that has a convection oven, and lots of great counter space, this kitchen is good-to-go. Innumerable celebratory dinners have been cooked here with love and enthusiasm. The fabulously large rear yard consists of three areas: Foremost is the main area, a flagstone-covered patio with a very large and gorgeous rectangular pool and water feature, a welcome gathering spot on a warm afternoon. A built-in kitchen bbq and dining area are nearby, and a wood-burning kiva fireplace with banquette seating provides a spot to warm up and cook marshmallows after an evening swim. There is plenty of room to set up tables for larger gatherings, which have occurred frequently here for graduations, weddings and birthdays. Also outside is a separate large storage area that includes two storage sheds and has alley access, and a separate substantial dog run. The master suite includes his-and-hers walk-in closets, an adjacent Arizona Room that has been a private sitting/reading area and office, and a yoga/exercise space with its own entrance. Three additional spacious bedrooms also provide walk-in closets and are served by two hallway bathrooms. A huge laundry room has abundant storage and counter space, a large sink and room for a party! The home is largely floored with ceramic tiles for easy maintenance, with attractive carpeting in the living room and bedrooms. A newer water heater has the efficiency of a 55 gallon tank. The home has been freshly painted, inside and out. It's move-in ready and awaiting its new owners who will be graciously welcomed by the neighbors. Please contact us for a private showing.

"There is easy access to your bus routes and it is minutes to downtown. Shopping is walking distance. Excellent restaurants and live music on most weekends. Neighbors are well educated, friendly, and ages range from 1 to the 90s. There are a lot of walkers in the morning and evening and parks, golf, tennis, and a community are blocks away. "
  • Larryaasher
"It’s a nice neighborhood lots of friendly people. I can’t think of anything else to say. There an elementary school nearby. "
  • 2hxywnp7rd
"I like the overall neighborhood it has a good feel and my neighbors are kind but not in my business "
  • Carrie Anne
"Not a very kid friendly city in general, but if you live on the outskirts of Tucson; East- Tanque Verde/Vail, North (Oro Valley), West(Picture Rocks), and far south (Sahuarita) then it’s pretty nice!"
  • Carrie Anne
"Not much to do for kids. Bad schools. Almost no parks in the area, side walks randomly cease. It’s 100+degrees for 2/3rds of the year. Don’t recommend "
  • P Dublin
"We have a neighborhood association (not an HOA) that puts on events in our little local park. Events like Mother’s Day celebrations, movie nights, back to school BBQ, Friday nights at the park with food trucks. We also have a community garden. My neighborhood (Colonial del Valley) is mostly elderly people who raised their kids here and a mix of younger people who are buying homes from relatives. "
  • Macyrclark
"This area is my bubble has everything most of the restaurants are walking distance from where we are but a little to hot for walking but could in the off season for sure."
  • Angelkatrina7
"There are a lot of dog walkers in the neighborhood. There are, however, a fair number of stray cats in the neighborhood & that can upset some dogs. "
  • Loveashley526
"Dog owners would really like the face that its a safe area and there are a lot of dogs and dog friendly people, "
  • Marie
"Great friendly neighborhood- lots of people walking dogs and being active. The views are amazing and there is shopping close by "
  • Shanice Gonzalez
"They would like the decent space the dogs have in the yards and close walks to Jacob’s Park. At the park, there is a dog park as well. They may not like reckless drivers that cut through the neighborhood streets at times. This would usually occur at night though. There are many dogs in this neighborhood, mostly friendly and very few would ever get out. "
  • 2hxywnp7rd
"The streets are dark at night T. Take all safety precautions to keep loved ones safe. Make sure if your a bike rider you have all legal lights. "
  • Penny Donnelly
"Movies in the park, community gardens, within walking distance to mall, frisbee park, good restaurants nearby"
  • Marie
"Lots of open space, paths and hiking trails to walk your dog. Most people out walking I see have dogs and are friendly. "
  • Lesreyhen
"It’s a really good area to walk your dog and visit with other walkers. It’s really quiet and no problems whatsoever "

"I’m new here and have no children, but it seems as though it is family friendly. Definitely dog friendly!"
  • J2t55y5rdn
"Rita Ranch is a quiet little suburb. People are friendly enough but not over bearing. Most neighborhoods facilities are maintained to the bare minimum, yards are mostly well kept, amenities are lacking in the area "
  • Trulia User
"Unfortunately, there is no special events in our community neighborhood or anything around here. Maybe one day things will change."
  • Uriv.223

"It is centrally located near Reid Park. You can easily walk to the bus stops nearby. It is minutes away from the university and shopping downtown or a variety of shops, eating establishments, and the mall is not far away. There is also a fire station nearby, but not too close to be disturbing. "
  • Mary Earney-stoe
"I’ve lived here since the first house was built. Perfect neighborhood for my family. The pool is wonderful and so are the little playgrounds. There also sidewalks available for walking."
  • Trulia User
"This neighborhood use to be awesome. We would play outside and it was safe. Once families moved out and investors came in and started renting out these homes it was no longer safe. "
