"There are lots of festivals and opportunities to be part of the community. There’s a lovely historic downtown area with blocks of shops and restaurants. Music and theater are important here. The public library is wonderful. The local Chamber of Commerce is very active. There are parks everywhere. Lots of people out with their dogs (and most of them pick up after their furry friends). Runners will enjoy several races every year. "

"Newburyport has a great school system. They have a private school K through eight, a charter school, And a great public school. The kids go down town after school and in their free time to the library, a local burger or pizza place, Or to play in one of the many parks. I feel it is very safe for my family. "

"Very dog-friendly. I see people walking their dogs all the time. My own dog loves walking the two rail trails they have, connecting bath parts of the town. The downtown stores always offer water outside for dogs. People are very friendly. I know three organic, all natural dog stores that encourage you to bring your dogs, as well as five dog groomers all within a ten minute walk from my house. Great dog town. "

"Newburyport is a wonderfully Dog accepting community. It is a great place to own a dog. Even if you don’t have a large outdoor space, Newburyport is a great dog walking town. With beautiful rail trails that are very accessible, to a beautiful waterfront, parks, as well as a beach where your dog is free to run. Everyone is great about picking up after their dogs and most stores welcome dogs and place dishes on sidewalks for water. "
