"It’s safe here. I don’t have to worry about my kids playing in the yard. Watch out for bears but other than that very safe"
  • Chuck F.
"I take my adventure cat hiking and on walks. I don’t have a dog. I see a few dogs wandering around. One which is intact. But I also see people walking their dogs at 7am and 3am or even 11pm. "
  • Seth B.
"Swannanoa is a neighborhood with a great park for walking dogs. Many people have pets in this area so most understand what it’s like to have a dog."
  • RP
"I live in beacon village, we have lots of kids running around without much supervision. Loud music for hours in end. It’s affordable though, but not the classiest group"
  • nbc
"No sidewalks, and severe lack of public transportation. Cheaper taxes though, but the “town” could use more “rules” as far as how houses and yards are kept up. "
  • Jjfroese300
"I’m in an inbetween house. Swannanoa is nice though. It’s not to far from civilization, but you also feel secluded."
  • Jamie
"Convenient to Asheville. several decent restaurants. Good school system. Friendly people. Close to Warren Wilson's farm nice trails . Lots of churches and a park"
  • Carla H.
"easy 15 to downtown Asheville where I used to work. now I live 1/4 mile from work, next to no commute! "
  • Nicholascargo
"A thing called Groovin’ on Grovemont. It’s music and such. Community yard sales at the local Ingles, out supermarket. "
  • Konstantin
"I have lived here for a few years and love it here but due to a layoff I am unable to stay here. I am downsizing. Great for Families, single people, couples and retirees! There's a community pool and a playground will be built in near future. There's also a dog walking area!"
  • Atward77 4. c.
"Lots of great hiking trails, parks and woods a minutes drive away. 10 minutes from Asheville, Black Mountain and Blue Ridge Parkway. Schools: Artspace Charter, Asheville Christian Academy, Warren Wilson College. Close enough to the city for convenience of nearby entertainment and restaurants, yet far enough away to experience nature in the woods or down at the farm. "
  • Corey C.
"We have lived in Swannanoa and Black Mountain for years. It's a beautiful mountain community."
