4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile SWGHS has super friendly students and amazing educators, the overall spirit of the school is awful. The pep rallies are boring, spirit week is uneventful and mainly consists of not having to wear a collared shirt like usual, and the students aren't really involved in activities, but as a student myself, I can understand why. I don't bring all of this up for no reason, however. The school is poorly funding, which can definitely be attributed to the county, but it's not like the school tries too hard to come up with funding itself. Don't be surprised to be in a classroom that uses chalk boards and those roll out TVs with VCRs, or for the bathrooms to have a plywood for their doors, or for teachers to not be able to pass out assignments because they have no paper. I'm not saying the they should have personal laptops or the newest technology, but they definitely need to make improvements. And don't even get me started on their terrible policies. The dress code is awful and one of their only sources of income. To not be forced to wear a collared shirt, you will have to buy school clothes that aren't the most pleasant or comfortable. Also, they will put you in detention for the smallest things and everyone is so strict. When reading this you may think that I have some vendetta against the school, but I don't. I think I'm most angry at the lack of memories I was able to make here. Hopefully, the administration of this school makes some changes.Student Review3y ago - Check out schools near 5635 E Hornaday Rd.
