6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageas a student here, I've never felt more depressed in my entire life. most teachers don't treat students with respect, or more accurantly, treat us as if we are mere 6 year old. we are given piles of work with no mental health days off or sick days. teachers probably get them, but as a student you are expected to have 20/20 attendence no matter what the reason. you could have a deadly decease and most teachers get pissy for not being prioity during these times. I'm disappointend at the treatment me and other students get in this school.Student Review5mo ago17 Reviews - Longwood Junior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child is in need of extra help , they will try to force special education on the parents. They present themselves as an amazing school full of help, but lack the core or may I call basics for teaching children entering the system. I feel like I am a full time educator at home, where school time is for practice. Also, the special education representatives speak to the parent sin a very demeaning way. Very unprofessional.Parent Review4mo ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 56 Thomas St.

"I lived here in Coram for 4 years and it’s been pretty quiet in my complex. Animals are on leashes, and the owners pick up after them. Very minimal to no police activity unless it’s a fire alarm that went off falsely "

"Driving only, light traffic in area. Work commute to Nassau County is about 50 min to an hour in morning, an hour or more in evening. Nothing worth walking to in this neighborhood and good restaurants are non-existent."

"Dog owners may not like the lack of sidewalks. It is Mostly just roads here right now. Sometimes that can be dangerous if cars are flying. There is also a lot of roadwork happening right now. "

"I have lived here for over 30 years in this diversely populated development. As a 72 year old retiree, I don’t have much in common with my considerably younger, child rearing neighbors, but I must say they are all among the best people anyone could wish for. They shovel my walks and driveway, invite my wife and me to their backyard pools and parties, check in on us to see if we need anything ... we couldn’t be treated better if we lived in a family compound. The service we get from our mail man and our sanitation workers is warm and personal. We consider them friends. Police, volunteer fire fighter, and emergency ambulance responses are fast and extremely competent. Properties are meticulously maintained. Taxes are low (for Long Island). Middle of Long Island location provides relatively easy access (by car) to both North Shore (rocky) and South Shore (white sandy) beaches. A great place to raise a family. My wife and I did."
