  • Raphaelina Butler
"Please pick another place if you’re thinking about coming here. This is not a place to raise your kids, and pets."

  • Taryn S.
"We don’t, and barely speak to each other it’s a lovely place, smile maybe, say hi once in awhile but neighbors aren’t the same as what they used to be around here "
  • Youngsyn89
"Elmira has a lot to offer at Wisnor Park and other local places. I have been able to enjoy Hockey Games at the local Arena."
  • Smileb13
"Many parks to attend. School district is good. Extracurricular activities available. Southport area is nice"
  • Chanele O.
"There are a lot of dogs in this area. There is even. Dog park in Elmira. However not a lot of owners pick up after their dogs so there is a lot of feces when you’re walk the streets. I personally worry my dog may catch something so I wash his feet regularly "
  • kaiphys
"Nothing pretty much, people don’t really talk to each other where I live. Last year we got only one trick or treater, people usually go to neighborhoods on the ā€œrichā€ or west side. "
  • Chanele O.
"The public transit has multiple buses with convenient routes and fairly reasonable timed trips. The buses take you to all surrounding areas. There is also a couple taxi companies in the area"

"Good place and elmira is a good big/little suburb! Transportation is busses and a record amount of parks!"
  • Aniyahkeith
"The community events that makes my neighbors special is Christmas I know this Bc on Christmas my neighbors where having the best time and on any other holidays they will have fun but not that much fun as Christmas."
  • Zwardy34
"I know a lot of local volunteer firefighters in the community which are great to know. Walking down the street, people say hello and wave which is very nice. Some sidewalks could use some repairs. There isn’t a whole lot of traffic through the area which is nice. "
  • Stepienmel997
"Old architecture, rich city history, small town feel, lots of community events, close to many shops/stores, close highway access, quiet neighborhoods"
  • Kiahreaves
"Within good distance, could be better though but the area as a whole is boring and small townish. Most things are close but for some they have to drive to the next town/county over to get to work as the job selection here is not the greatest."
  • Ktraugott04
"One of the few houses with a double lot in the neighborhood! Close to two parks and the Chemung River! "
  • Clsmith003
"We have a pond, park and kids playing. People walking their dogs and picking up the poop. Pretty consistent neighborhood. "
  • Butch H.
" I have Miller's pond across the street. great for fishing, and a playground for kids. Nice neighbors, a relaxing view. I love it."
  • CorpInst1
"I retired and moved South to a warmer climate and ocean. I used to walk this charming are with best architectural older home that are mostly Georgean and Tutor built in the 20's and 30's. These homes near Boston, DC or NYC would go for 10x their value in Elmira."
  • jfuchs417
"I have lived in this area for almost 10 years. It is a great place to live. Always lots of people out walking in the neighborhood year round. Lots of kids and minimal traffic since it the neighborhood is not a cut through to anywhere. 2-3 miles to major shopping areas. 10 minutes to Corning and Elmira. Lots of recreation/entertainment in the area. Proximity to highways, easy to get on and off. Higher education opportunities close by with CCC and Elmira College. Good public and private schools nearby as well. A lot of athletic fields in the community for recreation opportunities and public use. "
