  • Trulia User
"Cannot speak to this because I work remote. Although highway 395 is within minutes to access. The area can get congested around rush hour and 395 is known to be congested during rush hour. "
  • Ranesha J.
"lots of areas to walk and plenty of dog parks available at most apartment homes. most dog parks are the same and small though"
  • Kara J.
"It’s very family oriented, clean and quiet. It’s also diverse and well maintained with many resources "
  • Rita N.
"Good running trails and quiet. Good for families who need a yard but not good for a single person with a vibrant social and active life "

"It’s an Amazing city, I have been living here for more than 2 years and I love it. Is a beautiful city, clean, have many places like restaurants, shopping, groceries, nightlife, art and culture, close to Washington DC. Is amazing! "

"Close to DC, commute requires metro bus to pentagon, good food and grocery delivery options. Decent prices on groceries. "
  • Angie
"Alexandria West doesn’t have much. Fairlington is just across the street and they have regular, seasonal community events a few blocks up the road. (5ks, July 4th parade, flower sales, cookouts)"
  • Kelsey E. A.
"I have a very quick commute but there can be traffic depending on the day. People in the are do not drive very safely in the neighbor even when kids are running around"
  • Danihead74
"There is a nice park in the area. Nice quiet area with variety of type people and professions. There is a great indoor community center with a pool."
  • Rachel P.
"Lots of dogs in the area, being walked all the time, no open space for dogs to run though, and there's no real walking trails very close"
  • current_resident
"The area was good but now it is heavily infected with huge mice. If you walk in the evening or night you will see mice in corners. I am scared to even drop trash at night. The situation on my street, Sheffield, is so bad that mice have gotten into dry walls and heat vents and at night you can hear mice crawling and scratching. Management need to do something soon otherwise the area will be unlivable. Mgmt is improving the external image of the apartments with new paints, playground, etc but not doing anything about mice. You can call for tech and they’ll come and leave sticky mouse catchers but the mice in the area are big and are avoiding eating pills or walking on traps. The rent keeps going up but no improvements for the current residents. On top of that, they are adding indoor washer and dryers. No one wants it! Not only will it make the apts even smaller but you will continue to pay the same rent for square space. Horrible! "
  • Julieannbrown1
"Pet bags and the sidewalks that are available around the neighborhood. Plus all the dogs in my he neighborhood is a plus."
  • Rose A.
"There’s plenty of public transportation everywhere. Uber’s are also available 24/7 almost everywhere. Heading into and out of DC from here gets crazy during the mornings and afternoons."
  • Bertrand G.
"Great and getting better. There is a great diversity of people in all the best ways. It really is an amalgam of old, young, majority and various minorities, well to do and those aspiring to do well."
  • Chad
"Moved to Newport Village 10 days ago. So far the neighborhood surrounding seems quiet, clean and safe. Can't really walk to much but everything you need is a very short drive."
  • Amber S.
"I moved in this area 1 week ago. What I enjoy the most is how close everything is. I have yet to drive over 5 miles for anything I need "
  • Kayla T.
"It's a great place to play and live. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Neighbors are lovely—very nice and polite. I love when we get together for cookouts."
  • David K.
"The neighborhood is pet friendly, clean, and has careful drivers."
  • David K.
"There's easy traffic flow, and commutes are no problem."
  • David K.
"I like all the green space."
  • Paula L.
"We have two dog parks where dogs can run free within a huge fenced area."
  • Paula L.
"The Potomac River is a wonderful place to relax, soak up sun, and picnic on a nice day. We also have affordable restaurants where one can have good drinks and food outside. And there are often community sales of homemade or home-grown food at the Square."
  • Applejuiceica
"A lot of diversity in this neighborhood. Good location and close to everything, the city, old town, and pentagon. "
  • Gsmariags
