I have 3 graduates, one sophomore, and two more on their way to this high school. I will happily debate anyone with a negative review of this high school. This is a good school, with good staff, and in a good town. This school like any other gives any student what they work for. Their band program for my 2nd graduate was phenomenal, they have a solid athletics program, and their AP classes were challenging enough that my kids had to put in work for their grades.A student gets what they put in to their education here just the same as every other school. I made a very specific choice to raise my 6 children in Ellijay, GA in this school district.

My oldest child attended Mountain View grades K, 2-4. Never really had any major issues, but now that my youngest is in 3rd grade... The only issue I had was with her 2nd grade teacher. She was only her 2nd year teaching & she had no children of her own.. She kept complaining because my child wouldnt pay attention in class, but she never communicated with us via phone or email or set up a parent/teacher meeting. We just saw the comments on her report card. After her remedial class & after school tutoring, her grade continued to decline, so I had a meeting with the couselor & 2 of her teachers. The counselor suggest I have tested for ADD, my thought was how about getting a teacher who actually teaches & talks to the children instead of sitting in a corner texting &/or fixing her make up! (as per another student)

There is a large bullying problem at this school. We have been up there multiple times these past few years and they act like they are doing something to fix the problem but nothing changes. My child comes home crying almost every day. It is ruining their life. I am super disappointed in not just the school but the parents of these kids!
