5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school counselor is incompetent. She tends to hide in her office, leave school and meetings early and is not very skilled. She is supposed to be running groups. But, it’s December & we have not heard of any groups. The school could run much more effectively with a competent, skilled school counselor. There are some excellent teachers but there are some subpar teachers who should probably retire (They do not want to learn new skills or stay current with technology. It’s all worksheets & archaic teaching practices). The STEM teacher, librarian & enrichment teacher are all amazing! 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKammerer has been a great fit for 3 of my children. They transitioned with friends from elementary school and that helped them grow emotionally. Middle school is a hard time and full of learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Since KMS is not a huge school - I’ve been able to meet every staff member over the years and watch their styles of teaching. The new explorer program has elevated learning. My student is engaged in all her classes, band and engineering. She has a good balance of sports and clubs.
