    "I love Long Beach "
  • Martha Weintraub
"Great neighborhood. Community. The beach. The boardwalk. Nothing like living by the ocean. Bike friendly."
  • erinhanleycain
"I live and work in Long Beach. My commute is very easy as I just have to get across town. However, we have excellent buses and trains to get you around LB, Long Island or to/from the city."
  • Danielle King
"There are many families in the neighborhood and it is a very close knit community. There are always fairs, festivals, and family friendly events throughout the year. "
  • 24ynycddsx
"Long Beach is a wonderful self-contained environment offering food and drink, cultural activities and, most uniquely, a beautiful pristine beach and recently reconstructed 2 1/2 mile long boardwalk. People walk dogs at night, kids ride bikes, crime is low and at times when walking in Long Beach, you feel like you’ve been transported back in time to a more tranquil, innocent America. "
  • 24ynycddsx
"Most dogs are friendly. Owners keep them on a leash and are responsible about picking up after them. The main issue is that some owners let their dogs stay in the yard all day and bark continuously. "
  • Kosherdame
"Our synagogue has great community events and I love the vendor boutique on the boardwalk. Wish the farmers market was Sunday as well "
  • Kelsey Parry
"Beach, restaurants, surfing. Family friendly, very walkable/bikeable area. Not very dog friendly though — very few dog parks available for pet owners."
  • Andres Vanegas
"Light festival Tree lighting Boardwalk races Vball tournament Irish day St Patrick’s day Any night at Shines. "

"Safe family friendly neighborhood. Great for kids and pets. Fun time in the summer. Quiet in the winter. Easily commute to New York City p"
  • Mjknoff
"It was super easy to get to Long Beach from Manhattan on the LIRR. It’s an up and comer. "
  • Jason McConnell
"Sometimes people don’t pick up after their dogs and it looks bad for the rest of the dog owners. Most dog owners do abide by this, but there are a small few who don’t when it rains or when it snows. "
  • Andres Vanegas
"Beach two blocks away, lively bar scene, beach town suburbia unlike any other area near by, city is only one hour away!"
  • Ari
"Relatively safe. People are mostly friendly and nice or they mind their business. There are good restaurants, cool bars and we have a beach nearby. The vibe is here is family oriented as well as party depending on where you go."
  • Smurray
"Because it’s far enough from Manhattan, and has the best ocean beaches and community , also great schools , restaurants and bars, and an easy commute to NYC"
  • Jason M.
"Walkable to nearly everything you’d want to do. There are bus stops on almost every corner, then you have the boardwalk to walk east to west end. Then you have the train that is located in the central area. "
  • Kaitlin K.
"Great area, close to transportation, can bike or walk almost anywhere. Close to bay and the beach. Very easy commute out and into long beach."
  • Scott H.
"Awesome schools and community great place to raise kids and grow old or stay young. Look at it how you want. Elementary level education at its best Beaches can’t get better and the people food culture are waiting for you at most corners Run walk ride your bike. Ice hockey surfing beach volleyball and more "
  • Joseph L. .
"I live here and know the neighborhood well. There’s lots of friendly people around and people pick up after their dogs. "
  • Kaitlin
"The most beautiful drive to and from Long Beach over Loop and ocean parkways! The commute isn’t bad depending on where you are going but parking can be a nightmare if you don’t have your own spot or driveway."
  • Pattibogs
"beach concerts and movies. craft fairs, parades, fireworks, yoga, volleyball, church events and beach masses, boardwalk restaurants and food trucks, community pool and ice rink, races, fall festival."

"In my honest, humble opinion, there are a lot of dog owners here. Some are very good, and responsible. However some dog owners let their dogs bark a long time, and they don’t always pick up after their dog. "
  • John C. B.
"family friendly good beach and recreation center activities plus awesome hockey and gym plus pool!!! "
  • Titaoff
"Long Beach is a beautiful in a safe Community to live in, The Neighbors are beautiful gorgeous Beach and Boardwalk."
  • Melinda D.
"The LIRR is right in the center of town, and it's also right near the beach. There is only traffic on the way to the beach in the middle of the summer. Commute is great!"
  • Christie H.
"Summers, movies and concerts on the beach, street fairs and festivals, sports and recreation, farmers market "
  • Amr E. G.
"Movies/concerts on the beach, fireworks, restaurants, the beach, farmers market, history etc. "
  • Casey P.
"No dogs are allowed on the beach during open hours but you can sneak them on after hours or early in the morning"
  • Sanford G.
"Dogs are always welcome and owners are friendly. People generally pick up poop. People throw bread or pretzels in the road to get birds to hang around, so people don’t speed down the street."
  • Kelly G.
"I’ve lived here once with my grandfather and loved it so much that I wanted to move back. Which I did! I’m someone who loves the smell of the ocean coming through my window and know that I have a beautiful scenic route to look, walk or be nearby at whether it’s sunset or sunrise. Most people are friendly and there’s a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. I love that this town has many bicyclists; whether laid back cruisers or competitive cyclists. No matter the weather it’s a beautiful place to live. "
  • Chevybob48
"I think the area of Long Beach is a very nice beach community. It’s a 50 minute commute from Long Beach to Penn Station/NYC. There are now so many residents that have dogs. Some dog owners are not responsible and leave dog waste in plastic bags on or in front of buildings and or other peoples property which is so disrespectful. Some dog owners are good and properly dispose their dogs waste. "
  • C D.
"I see people walking their dogs all the time. It’s a dog friendly community. A lot of coops and condos do not allow dogs though. Something to keep in mind. "
  • Lcalugaru
"I like Long Beach but it needs new roads. Great town, social life, nice people summer concerts good restaurants "
  • Dkn615
"Long Beach is a very family friendly neighborhood with lots of activities available to children in the summer. "
  • Ancomp76
"Great access to the major highways and trains. Long Beach is close to the water. Therefore the commute is a bit longer than living inland "
  • Trulia User
"We have a farmers market every weekend, summertime beach movie nights and boardwalk fairs, and during the holidays there are family events like Easter egg hunts, Halloween parades, and a tree lighting "
  • Sarahb125
"*Beach *boardwalk *small community that seems to keep improving as a communal goal *local business *friendly atmosphere "
  • Stephanie G.
"There are several ways to get around but it’s a troop. By car is hard there’s no parking in most of the city. Train requires a transfer through Jamaica. But there’s no place in NY like it. "
