If you are planning g to apply at Capps Middle School, then run like the wind. Not physically safe, not good for your mental health, just not worth it. You will have health problems and left feeling demoralized everyday your there. Remember that game hungry hippo. As soon as 1 cell phone gets removed another one pops up. Your playing cat and mouse games all day. Administration has no concrete plan to remove them. Grades don’t matter, easy access to video games and you tube on iPads. I could go on and on. This year Kirkland went from a K-5 school to a PK-2 school and got a new principal and staff. My child was enrolled at the same school where Kirkland's principal and staff used to work, but that school (a PK-K school) was closed. I chose to transfer my child along with Principal Ashley Hoggatt and her other staff because they are amazing people. My son is in special ed, and we moved my daughter to Kirkland (2nd grade) as well. The special ed teacher Christy Gammon is incredibly kind and involved in our son's life. The 2nd grade has just two classes with very experienced teachers and small numbers. It's a multi-cultural school in the best way. I love that my kids are going to be friends with kids of many other cultures. The new office staff has also been very helpful and kind. As a new Kirkland transfer parent, I've had a lot of questions. Everyone is wonderful and helpful. I see a very bright future for Kirkland. It's definitely on its way up in ratings in Putnam City Schools thanks to its great new Principal, staff, and restructuring.

Literally the single worst school in Oklahoma. Big violence problem, not to mention the lack of action towards bullying and harassment. I also was unfortunately one of the students who had to endure the many problems with the bus lines and such. 3 bus routes worth of sweaty teens packed tightly into ONE bus, which made it nearly impossible to fit. Not to mention sometimes the bus just would not be there. The amount of times I had to have my mom get off of work just to pick me up is RIDICULOUS. And thanks to the school's complete disregard for mental health, I ended up almost getting hospitalized. And yes, I blame the school, because as soon as I got up and out of that hell pit, I was doing MUCH better. So here's a little bit of advice, parents: Don't let your kids go here. NO MATTER WHAT.
