"People are friendly, the area is clean. The local shops are great. Everyone is so helpful in the community. It’s a great place to meet people "
  • Joseph Kenneth Blake
"There are quite a few dog owners in the neighborhood. There is constant dog walking throughout the day."
  • Gingergiant16
"There are plenty of spaces to walk your animals along with plenty of pet waste disposal containers. "
  • Trulia User
"Although there are nice parks where I live, most of the family friendly neighborhoods reside in an enclosed neighborhood called Cameron Station. There is a beautiful library and it's close to Van Dorn Metro. There is a lot of traffic and some have pockets that are unsafe. The area is not pedestrian friendly. Lots of dog parks. Not stroller friendly. Eisenhower seems to have the least amount of crime but it is a busy street during the day. LA Mart is a great source for Asian groceries. The area has almost everything you need in a short distance. Schools aren't rated the best."
  • Trulia User
"keep an eye on kids near streets or driveways. pick up pet poop. meet new people and an opportunity to network. "
  • Trulia User
"A breeze going into the metro which is only 30min walk down the street. This was a great place close to my work so it’s great."
  • Safinatu K.
"The neighborhood is friendly and easy to commute. people come together to celebrate and barbeque in parks as one family. everything is close by to access!"
  • Jeff H.
"Morning To Downtown DC is 45 min, Ft Belvoir is 30-40Min, Reston is 45-60 min, Weather and Accidents Permitting. Return evening is same. "
  • Frank J. I.
"Multi-culti community! Great for diversity and growing up experiencing different walks of life. Give it a shot!"
  • Staceed
"There are many dog parks, parks and trails within walking distance of coffee shops and grocery stores."
  • Joseph W.
"this a great place to live it located close to DC and you have access to plenty of shopping. the schools are great!"
  • Michelle O.
"There are no dog parks nearby but I do see people walking their dogs a lot on the sidewalks in the area"
  • Kelli M. R.
"The area is pretty safe to walk through during the day and there are a lot of parks. where I am you can walk to grocery stores and local shops. know that it is around a lot of apartments and houses so there can be heavy traffic. "
  • Kristin M.
"30-40 min driving in morning and similar at night. There are options, not just freeway. I have taken the shuttle and metro occasionally, and that is good, too. "
  • Kristin M.
"Parks at either end of neighborhood and two dogs parks within walking distance. Lots of people walk their dogs around here and gather at the cafe to chat."
  • Kristin M.
"30 min or less commute to Dc depending on time of morning. Shuttle to metro is convenient. Overall, good commute"
  • Bojazz
"Just moved in a few weeks ago. The metro system is a disaster. It took me more than two hours and four busses to get to Springfield Mall."
  • Trulia User
"Dog owners will like the number of sidewalks and dog parks in the area. There are also many parks and recreation areas too."
  • Vanitaw
"There are huge community garage sales. Our community cafe is a meeting place for people to gather. The community pool is also a meeting place for families."
  • Rdhead58
"Lots of dogs being walked in neighborhood, and folks often have little dog meet ups so dogs can socialize 🙂"
  • Rdhead58
"Community has shuttle to metro and access to bus stops. Traffic typically heavy, especially during rush hours."

  • Rebeca8s
"It's a great area that has a variety of places to visit by car and walking distance from many shops, landmarks, and metro stations."
  • Deanna B.
"This is a high traffic area with many drivers that go above and beyond the speed limit. There are plenty of things to do in the area, but children should not travel without supervision."
  • Nicole E.
"multiple public transportation and access to grocery stores....... apartment complex has been nice to live in. "
  • Joshuakrantz g. c.
"The bus comes by my building and brings me to the train which I take to work in DC. For work in Fairfax County, I have to drive."
  • Md L.
" high traffic area. parents should be aware of their children's whereabouts at all times. lots of people and lots of cars. "
  • Mia S.
"I walk the dog late at night even at midnight and it feels safe. I've walked the dog even at 4 to 5 am outside the perimeter because there is already traffic on Eisenhower Ave and Van Dorn St. We are so close to Kingstowne, National Harbor, and I hear Landmark Mall will be renovated in a few years into a town Center. Plus the Metro is right across the street. No need to wait in misery for A SHUTTLE BUS at Cameron Station or the condos. We are literally a minute from 495/95 and 5 minutes from 395. This is a great community with many pet owners and a nice pool. I also walk 4 miles back and forth on Eisenhower Avenue. Nice long walk and very scenic walk all the way past Cameron Water park. The Eisenhower Avenue at the end is developing into a trendy area filled with restaurants and we've been going to the cinemas there for 16 years plus Old Town Alexandria is like home and we go there often to look at the water and eat at the shops, as well as National Harbor."
  • Angelasatorre
"I've lived here 16 years. Many people come and go.. It's unique because I have so many shopping or eating areas around."
  • Gabriel O.
"The residents are diverse, with multicultural religions and traditions blending in one area. We have a Caribbean Music Festival each June and National Hispanic Month festivals each May."
  • Ly S.
"We have access to the Metro, jogging paths, and family-friendly restaurants. There are block parties when the whole neighborhood comes out."
  • Ly S.
"It's safe and fun, and the schools are great."
  • Mirella F.
    "We have phenomenal historic landmarks."
  • Ashlaye F.
"It's busy, always bustling with professionals and young families. There's lots of variety when it comes to shopping, and most are quite affordable for families on a budget."
  • Abiandbaba
"It’s a very diverse neighborhood with a lot of millennials as well as people from different backgrounds. Also with people raising a family as well as those retired. "
  • Lydiawilliams51
"The friendly people, convince to almost anything, location location location, less crime. Home prices are reasonable "
  • Abiandbaba
"The proximity of everything from restaurants to shopping and groceries. A lot of millennials. Safe place to live. "
  • Lydiawilliams51
"I have leaved in this area for thirteen years and love it, little to no crime from where I can see. My car insurance is lower than when I was leaving in Dumfries Virginia. I will recommends this neighborhood to anyone that looking for a safe neighborhood to leave in."
