This social flux ushered in a significant middle class that seems to be bourgeoning with small social pockets of affluent hipsters scattered throughout the city. This change can be seen at the local markets that now carry organic and environmentally conscious products as well as an increased selection of wines, craft beers, cheeses and exotic produce. Thus a sign of an educated palate vs. a big box retail generic. The schools are undergoing dramatic changes while switching to standardized tests that empirically measure aptitude and ability which are quantifiable versus classical subjective teaching. All schools are generally improving and meet or will meet state standards."
