I’ve had a challenging experience with Blanton Elementary. While I appreciate some of the teachers, my interactions with the vice principal have been very disappointing. When I called to check on my daughter, I was met with rudeness and a refusal to confirm her presence at school. Even after meeting to discuss the situation, I felt the apology was insincere, especially considering my daughter’s safety was at stake. Overall, I believe the staff, particularly in the main office, could benefit from a more professional and friendly approach. I’m looking forward to finding a better fit for my daughter’s education.

We had high hopes and fingers crossed when we enrolled our child here. We had heard about all the money spent on renovations, a new award-winning principal who boasted handpicking her teachers. There was chatter about cutting edge technology and project based learning… The technology instruction we learned later, consisted of an out of field instructor sitting at the front of the room while the students stare at their laptops, essentially teaching themselves the curriculum using publisher made powerpoints. Instruction in Math and Science were seriously lacking. Behaviors at this school were off the chain, bullying and fights every day. There’s a TikTok channel dedicated to fights at Tyrone Middle so you can look that up. We later learned that many of the teachers were disrespectful to students. One substitute was recorded cursing at her 6th grade class yet she is still employed there. Math teachers recorded ridiculing and bulling a student. It’s no wonder children there are so cruel to each other when that is the behavior being modeled by the adults. Calls and emails sent to the administrators goes ignored. It is a truly awful school.
