8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has autism and has an IEP. There was nothing individual about his plan for education. He scored very poorly on state testing, yet his teachers gave him wonderful marks and said he was an excellent student. This is mostly because he did not curse or misbehave in class. Some classes even had other students vaping in class which upset him to no end. Our concerns were left unmet. My son has trouble with basic math, reading and comprehension. All of these were not addressed while he was a student. After twelfth grade we had to fight tooth and nail to get him in an extended 18-21 program which they only agreed to admit him for one year. During this time, my son said he was completely bored and did not learn a thing. My wife and I tried to send him out of district to a school that was highly recommended by an outside agency. Not only did the Child Study Team refuse to send him there, but they also refused to let my wife and I take a tour of the outside facility. Overall, I believe the Clearview Regional School District completely failed my sons' special needs and left him unable and unready to face the post-graduation world. Knowing the academics of other schools in NJ, I know that this school does provide a quality education for my children.
