We were afraid that without the latest technology and resources, our child would be struggling. However, we have learned that the best resource has been the dedicated staff of this school. Teachers here care about the students and not just the grades. They keep open lines of communication to the parents. They listen and take suggestions. They offer insight to our child's development within the school and work hard to help with not just test scores, but life, occupational, and social skills.. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience with Hancock County High School as a graduate is mediocre at best. I noticed that, compared to other schools I've experienced, things are way too easy, and don't effectively prepare you for any higher education. I walked away from the school knowing very little, and it's because of how some of the teachers don't exactly teach very well, plus good teachers get swapped out frequently with poor quality ones, and it's generally frustrating. I also tend to see a lot of students getting picked on or bothered and hardly anything, if anything, is done about it. I have some experience with getting bullied definitely, and things barely changed from starting out in kindergarten to leaving as a high school senior.My heart goes out to any out-of-state/county students that are now attending Hancock County.
