This school provides excellent opportunities for students to grow both academically and personally. Students can participate in a variety of clubs such as Robotics, Science Olympiad, Student Council, HOSA and many others, which help them develop leadership skills and explore their interests. The teachers are very supportive and always willing to help students whenever they have questions or doubts in their subjects. They encourage students to learn new things, think creatively, and build confidence. It is a wonderful environment for students to learn and succeed.

I’m writing this review to help other people who are looking to put there children in this school as a student who went to million middle school and South Lyon East High School being a person of color made me a target for bullying and I suffered so badly with depression and self harm in the time at this school I was bullied by a group of boys who I will not name when I would wear my Afro at school I used to get food crumbs put in it or students at this school would use many racial slurs and I would be called dirty and disgusting by a group of people it was truly one of the worst years of my life and I wouldn’t wish this type of pain on anyone my family wasn’t high class my mother had left a abusive relationship and was working to provide for me and my siblings so I didn’t have the things my peers had and even when I tried to talk to people I was just a target and it sucked even in my freshman year I was compared to a adult flim star by the bullies south lyon do better I understand i wasn’t the same race as most of the students there but genuinely I told so many people about what was happening and it didn’t stop and for it to reach to high school made it worse when i barely knew those people I wish I could name these people but I can’t for privacy reasons but it still hurts that these people are gonna live normal lives

I'm very disappointed with the leadership at Dolsen Elementary. The principal does not demonstrate the professionalism or impartiality expected for someone in her position. She often behaves more like one of the children than a responsible adult leader. It's troubling to see that certain students consistently receive more attention and opportunities, while others are seemingly ignored.A major concern is the lack of transparency in how classes are assigned. While the school claims that class placements are randomized each year, it's curious that the principal’s daughter is always placed with the same group of friends. This repeated pattern raises serious questions about fairness and equity—something that’s especially important at the elementary level, where all children deserve equal opportunities to grow socially and academically.Dolsen Elementary has potential, but it needs leadership that treats all students equally and upholds the integrity of its policies. Parents should not have to worry about favoritism or bias in a public school setting.
