  • Trulia User
"We have none everyone mainly stay to themselves no gatherings or anything of the sort. We were suppose to have a park but they felt more houses were better and gave us the options of a small common area and really feel cheated "
  • Trulia User
"We haven’t had any problems. The people here are salt of the earth and it doesn’t take long to fit right in."

  • Trulia User
"Great family neighborhood. I was raised in this neighborhood and have always had friendly neighbors. "
  • Trulia User
"I've lived on the outskirts of the Garden District for nearly 3 years. I lived here for a while about 15 years ago as well. The years in between, I spent wishing I still lived here. In this largely rural area, many of the roads were not built to handle the current increased level of traffic, particularly during so-called "rush hour" times, so moving 10 minutes away from the city center might mean adding a 30+min (one way) commute to your day. From the Garden District, I can reach almost destination around the city in about 5-10 minutes. The interstate. The mall. The college. Downtown. Even across the river to West Monroe. "
  • Trulia User
"block parties, church cookputs, community landscape projects, neighborhood park and store runs, walks, races for awareness, special events, boat and park events, fresh markets and live music festivals "
  • Tlady29
"Very pet friendly! Dogs are being walked daily throughout the entire neighborhood in my area. I personally have my pets fenced in, the USPS driver always provide treats to them on all his routes."

  • Chezhiyan M.
"The daily drive to the office is very easy and the schools and day care are also on the way . All the grocery stores and restaurants are within a short drive "
  • Chezhiyan M.

  • Bsheppardnelson
"I am close to my work, the university and various shopping sites. I have no problem getting to just about any where in the city in no more than 15 minutes. I am also very close to the highway. My"
  • Linda H.
"That there is no school bus in this area .kids have to walk in the rain and the cold .which I think is very sad just because they live in the neighborhood ."
  • Taylor M
"You see a lot of dog owners walking their dogs daily. There are also a lot of kids in this neighborhood who would love to play with and help with your dog. "
  • Cocoapocahontas
"There are no gates around the houses There are not areas to walk the dogs freely! It is not dog friendly. There are few dog owners due to strict pet policies. ."
  • Iameuloneg
"Dog owners would like that the kids here love pets and are very pet friendly, they wouldn’t like the fact that there are many stray dogs in the area that are vicious."
  • Tpharris
"My neighborhood has access to 4 schools within a 3 mile radius. There are several churches to visit also within a 3 mile radius! Its Awesome! Its quiet at nighttime. My neighbors are friendly."
  • Winstoncolor
"I think this street is the only one when people go outside when a car alarm goes off . We have great neighbors and we care about driving slow because of children and animals. I wish all could be like this "
  • Adrian S.
"crime is high in the area lots of homeless roam the neighborhoods and drugs are prevalent. but homrs are beautiful with alot of charm. "

"people are always walking their dogs. there's a walking trail in walking distance as well. it's a very quiet neighborhood "
  • Ammyta M
"Absolutely love my our ā€œIslandā€. One way in & one way out. It is an actual island. Friendly neighbors & have closed site to keep everyone updated on any issue. Not had any problems since we moved on the Island, almost 2 yrs ago. Only reason I would move would be to down size or change cities. Getting ready for change. Have lived in Monroe area my entire life. "
  • Magnolia4
"There’s been a steady increase in thieves over the last few years. However , the neighborhood is pet-friendly, diverse, and mostly quite family-oriented."
  • QP
"My neighborhood is in a prime area and has easy access to many things that you will need including healthcare, grocery stores, restaurants, and the university. "
  • Kathy71294
"My neighborhood is suburban with a country feel. There is plenty of wildlife to watch and trees to give the appearance of living ā€œoutsideā€ of the city. Yet you are only minutes away from a major interstate and highway. "
  • Lisa_oneal2001
"We don’t live in town. Our area is more rural. We do have a recreational center close by and there are some real neighborhoods out here. "
  • Lisa_oneal2001
"We have lived in this neighborhood 34 years. We love it here. People are nice and trustworthy. It is a nice place. "
  • Ladollar16
"We are southern. When you’re here, you’re part of a welcoming community that ACTUALLY cares about you. "
  • Pearl P.
"There isn't anything unique about the neighborhood. Not good at least. There's a Dollar General that was regularly robbed until they made changes and the corner store Now N Save parking lot is always full of bums and drunks. I hate to use those terms but I can't call it any other way. "
  • Jkswanne
"It is in close proximity to a neighborhood pool and fitness facility that really makes the neighborhood seem very warm and inviting."
