4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a staff member, I am truly embarrassed to have any association with this school or district. I have no idea why anyone would choose to live in Manchester and send their children to schools like Parker-Varney. This city and this building will try anything to get the test scores up immediately (dump money into Chromebooks, Ipads) except, you know, hire enough teachers to keep class sizes down, or hire enough paraprofessionals to keep behaviors from special needs/behavior needs students from disrupting the entire classroom. This is also a school that for years, no matter who the principal is, seems to hire new staff members based on personal biases. Student teachers are selected for positions over certified teachers with actual experience. And a startling number of classroom teachers simply do not know how to teach, or just cannot be bothered to, and waste quite a bit of time with witch hunts and vendettas against other people in the building. After years of seeing this school in action, I would never send my kids here. This school is unsafe. Dangerous behaviors are not addressed and allowed to fester and escalate. There are very few opportunities for student growth. Run away!Teacher Review11y ago5 Reviews - Middle School At Parkside

"The South End neighborhood is safe and friendly. Kids play outside and can ride their bikes and scooters. Everyone drives slowly through the area. There are nice parks and Crystal Lake to swim at. Schools are good. "

"I like the area. Especially Valley West Way. It’s tucked away as its own little village. Very unique layout for townhouses. Also, I love that it is NOT close to bars/shopping, but close to schools. So it is very walkable. It’s the suburbs for a reason. If having shops, bars, and restaurants close by is on your list, I suggest moving to Elm Street. "

"I see dogs being walked throughout the day. The owners mostly clean up after their dogs. Most of the neighborhood has no sidewalks so you have to walk on the street. "

"The Riverwalk community combines the privacy and safety of a gated community with easy walking proximity to restaurants and nightlife of downtown Manchester. Many of the homes have beautiful views of the Merrimack River. Neighbors are super friendly and watch out for each other. "

"When I moved to the top area of Manchester street a little over a year ago, this area had a lot of ladies of the night that frequented the areas at night & early mornings, had a bad tenant in the unit next to me that brought a ton of rift raft, drug users & thieves but since putting up cameras, signs & being proactive, & of course getting rid of the bad apple, this area has made a HUGE improvement! My building is well maintained. I feel safe & I am actually stayed another year. I’m now on my second year living in this area & I think it’s a great stepping stone to get you into a better area afterwards! Or stay if you’re a homeowner! 🙂"

" Manchester Isnt the greatest due to addiction and crime . even if your on the south end or north end your not really in a much different situation it's only if you live on the outskirts that your good and can actually say your property is safe ... I'm just being honest 💯💯💯💯!!!"

"Great neighborhood for dog owners, plenty of side walks, dog friendly parks within walking distance and nature trails literally right around the corner. Many current dog owners in the area that you will see out with their dogs on a daily basis. Always pleasant with well mannered dogs, l we have never had any barking problems, everyone picks up after their dogs and neighbors always willingn to help with a poo bag if you forgot to grab on! A few elderly neighbors enjoy sitting outside greeting the neighborhood children and dogs when the weather is nice enough. "
