"People let their dogs run around unattended. You cannot leave your dog out in your own yard unattended because of it."
  • Sandysprankle
"Everyone just lets their dogs run around out their yards! So if your dog/dogs aren’t ready for company in their yard, "
  • Carolgfelix
"We have not had any community events in our subdivision; however, McComb and surrounding towns have great festivals."
  • Sandysprankle
"People just let their dogs run loose all around the neighborhood. I wouldn’t let my kids out to play."
  • Lisa W.
"None really. There are few parades and events in this town. It’s more of just a stopping place between Hammond and Jackson. "
  • Ae1016
"Everyone knows everybody in this small town. You don’t have to look far to see someone you know. Traffic is also never a concern. "
  • Mew P.
"We have annual festivals and events: Azalea festival, The Iron Horse Festival, Train Day; The Farmer’s Market is every Thursday. The community always pulls together to support someone in need by selling various plate lunches. "
  • Sanconday
"Long time neighbors, family church in neighborhood over 140 plus years old, mostly elderly neighbors, low crime"
  • Justine.davis06
"We have lived in mccomb for almost two years.. it’s ok .. I’m still use to living in Madison county ..still learning my way around town "
  • Lottiannlucas73
"My neighborhood is boring we have nothing to entertain us but the streets I would love to a walking distance restaurant near but I doubt that will ever happen. "
  • Michael F.
"A small neighborhood on a private drive can go anywhere in town in 15 minutes. Easy to drive one hour fifteen minutes to jackson 90 minutes to New Orleans"
  • Bessie W.
"the people's that live here ,I am very friendly to everyone and they are too.me you can sit outside without some knocking you in the head"
  • Courtney B.
"I used to live in this neighborhood, and I was glad to leave. Dogs run loose because no one has bothered to fence their yards. There are no sidewalks, so if you're taking a walk, you have to be in the street. The residents speed through the neighborhood, even though the posted limit is 30 mph. The neighborhood, while older and established, looks run down. Many residents don't keep their yards neat, adding to the overall look of neglect. There aren't many families with kids, so I wouldn't call this a family friendly area. Also, there is creek bisecting the neighborhood which can be quite swift moving when there's been a lot of rain. On the positive side, the lots are large and homes are generally set well back from the street. It's also fairly quiet. But all in all, not an area I'd want to live in again. "

"Great small town atmosphere surrounded by some small hills containing beautiful wooded areas as well as open fields. Friendly polite people abound and lots of outdoor activities nearby. "

"I live next door to this house, My wife and I are both teachers in this area. I know the area well. It is within walking distance to the Public Library, Schools High School, Middle School, and Elementary. It has a community college about 10 min, drive away. Fast food and fine dining within walking distance. Two Grocery stores just a few blocks away, as well as plenty of banks, in addition to a Wal-Mart Supercenter and a Mall just a few minutes away. The hospital is about 15 blocks away. Very nice churches just a few blocks in any direction. Very nice neighbors who are willing to help you in any way that they may help if you need it. We have them keep an eye on our dogs while we are out of town. Large cities just an hour drive in almost any direction, for example Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, Jackson, MS, Hattiesburg, MS. Very inexpensive Cost of Living. We have a number of health clubs including a very nice one at the First Baptist Church-Mccomb, which includes a basketball court. A boys and Girls club just a few minutes away. I hope this helps. "
