The reviews on this school are very old. I just wanted to add a current, and positive, one, as I’m surprised by this school’s rating. We love Meadowlane! The teachers are kind and engaged - we see the principal on bus duty greeting the kids every day. There are lots of fun activities and themes, lots of focus on kindness and good citizenship in the curriculum. My son is an energetic boy that struggles to sit still and can be a handful (!) and he is thriving. The atmosphere and focus of this school is warm and welcoming, diverse and wonderful. Please don’t listen to these outdated reviews.

"Lees summit has become very diverse since I moved here in 2017 which I love. The school district is fantastic and their special education services are phenomenal. They offer early education for special education through the school district as well as pre-k options through the school district. A plethora of shopping and restaurants that continues to grow. "

"It’s pretty, calm and quiet mostly. Kids will be kids. Don’t be deceived because most parents here have the financial resources to overcome any issues. There are limited options for those who are less fortunate. There is also a high expectation for parent involvement in schools, considering most parents work."

"Tough on Pitbull breed. Few dog parks which are nice. Animal control people that I have been in contact with are very professional. My dog barks a lot and had a complaint. They were understanding and just asked me to handle it. If they pick up a loose dog they will make every attempt to try to get dog home rather than straight to pound. Scan chips, call tag #s, etc."

"No special events, just good people. We will visit at holidays and always be willing to help each other out if someone needs something around house. You feel comfortable introducing yourself and trusting your neighbors to look out for you and your property. "
